I've done exactly the same. Used to love R2 for commute but now switched to Virgin on way to work and Talksport/Spotify on way back.
Choice is a lovely thing.

I listen to Virgin in the Home am then R2/R4 commute (no DAB radio and without question no DAB signal / shocking signal on my commute). On the way home I’m really not fussed I like R&B or funk or anything really lots of music.

One thing though I don’t see why people online inform others of what they do or do not do it’s a bit weird. Leave it to the listener numbers that’s the only true measure not some straw poll on a car forum talking about radio stations

I think we refer to the phenomenon of telling people what we like or dislike as "chatting". I know it's a bit weird and aimless - but it is kind of normal.

+1 about JW BTW. A master at his craft.
+2 JW is one of the, if not the best radio presenter currently on air.
+3 for Jonnie Walker, I loved his radio program in the evening as I was driving home.
Yup, he is very easy on the ear, unfortunately I'm rarely in the car when He's on. The majority of my in car listening is Classic FM, the rest of the Uk stations I can get are pretty dire. Virtually 100% of my radio listening at home is of overseas stations.

Hope he's OK. He's had a few health scares over the years.

Mark Radcliffe is up on bricks too with cancer of the tongue and lymph node issues.

I don’t believe he “chose” Whiley I think he just tried to justify why she was selected.
The comments are amusing.

Interesting read. Shame that the Beeb forced him out in the end. I'll give Scala a go, I'm not a massive classical fan, but I could learn to like it.

Kermode and film scores piqued my interest though!

Yes he really 'blasted them' with "they made a mistake" in his 'full and frank interview' which consisted of five sentences.

This isn’t what I expected from Simon Mayo, but sounds interesting:
They have started broadcasting, today I think; couple of weeks of test transmissions on DAB and http://www.scalaradio.co.uk, and go live with presenters and a proper schedule from 4 March.

May have to retune your DAB to find it, it is on the National mux.

The music selection I've heard this evening has been nice, easy, more Classic FM than Radio 3; unfortunately though the DAB bandwidth they've either paid for or been stuck with is piss poor so it's not very high quality, maybe this will change by go live date.

Blimey, had no idea he was still around, used to listen him on Capital back in the 80's I guess it would have been.

Sticks.

R2 now officially a "girl fest", and whilst I get the whole Red Nose day thing, Winkleman and Daly dancing non stop for 24 plus hours and interfering with every program broadcast, is just too painful to listen to (and let's not forget that tt McCall muscling in on the act too. Nothing new there I guess, as Alan sugar would say, "she'd turn up to the opening of an envelope"...

I have no issues with equality amongst broadcasters, but R2 has now officially lost the plot, and don't start me off on Ms Cox and her two hours of drivel every weekday evening.

Anyone read this ?
