I know he isn’t for everyone
But
Rylan Clarke is great.
Music great
The quiz and chit chat great
And it’s lovely to have D&I
Hell no. But to give the bloke his due, he is very slick and professional at TV presenting when I’ve seen him on the One Show and not nearly as irritating as you think he might be.But

I've heard his show a few times and he's actually quite funny.
We have a battle in our house between Radio 6 (me) and Radio 2 / Virgin for Chris Evans (her). I deliberately listen to Cerys because I know her voice is like nails down a blackboard to my wife and she hates "plinky plonky world music st".
We both agree, that a return of the Ranking Miss P is long overdue however.

Wasn’t a fan, but i have to admit he was really good when he stood in for Steve Wright (even though the “we love you Steve” comments did become a little irksome)But

How Steve Wright manages to cling on to 3 hours in the afternoon is beyond me.....

Me either - I actually turn off the radio rather than listen to himAs for dialling in his Sunday show... That really is scandalous...
Simon Mayo on GHR : Day 3
My wife's listening to the show whilst cooking. I've been reading, so it's been background noise. It's a shame he's on commercial radio now, and couldn't / didn't negotiate a "NO ADVERTS!" deal like Graham Norton seems to have managed when he moved to Virgin.

My god, that’s a blast from the past.
On Radio 2, the best show hands down is Pick of the Pops with the Great Gambo.
I really don't get the like for Gambo. Theres no denying that he has an encyclopedic knowledge of music but on the radio his delivery is dreadful. He always sounds like he is reading from a script. Bring back Blackburn for Pick Of The Pops. He really does have the ability to sound like a DJ without sounding forced. On Radio 2, the best show hands down is Pick of the Pops with the Great Gambo.

I've switched to Greatest Hits now as well. So far so good. Drivetime is excellent, good to have the confessions back. Music seems to be excellent so far.
I caught the show on my way home from the dentist tonight. I thought it was very good, just like the old days!Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
