I'm picking up my V8 Vantage next week and need to sort out a cd mounted phone holder. The one available from www.cdslotmount.com came highly recommended but it says it's not compatible with a multi-disc player (I understand on a Vantage that discs are loaded one at a time into the cd player?).

Has anyone else managed to successfully source a phone holder that is compatible with the Vantage multi-disc player?

Thanks in advance...

The CD multi changer is loaded from the dash so any will fit.

I looked at a CD slot one for mine but came to the conclusion it would be a bit awkward in terms of accessing the start button etc and a bit obstructive of the screen of the entertainment system. I ended up with a firm vent based mount to sit just above in the central vents. Be interested to see if this is a better solution.

Ive been using a Kenu airframe vent mounted holder for 5 years now, works great so have one in all the cars. Does mean you usually have one vent switched off in winter (not warming the phone) Either in near centre vent or drivers side vent

Warming the phone isn't a big issue. Chilling it in summer is though. It kills battery life.

I find it quite surprising that a V8 Vantage doesn't come with bluetooth connectivity and sat nav. Is there another reason for wanting to mount your phone?

Never seen these before, cool concept. I use the Belkin Phone holder from Halfords if I need to mount my phone.

Its really good price and very stable.

Are we sure that the innards of a CD player, cannot be damaged by a phone holder.

Hopefully not an extremely expensive gadget.

Mine does have Bluetooth and sat nav but by all accounts the latter is utterly useless (although I don't get the car until this Friday so haven't actually tried it yet)!

But that's why I was looking at a cd slot holder so I could mount my phone and use Waze wink

Compared to Waze, the Sat nav is Stone Age tech. Just set the directions to ‘Output as phone call’ & they’ll be heard on your car audio via Bluetooth.

The latest opensource Sat Nav on AMi III is brilliant, at least as good as any other system I have seen or used, certainly better than the new Garmin we have in the pool car at work.

However I realise thats not much use for you.

That said the system on the earlier cars, whilst not great isn’t anywhere near as bad as people make out IMHO, so unless sat nav is critical to your daily drive I would personally live with it rather than having an ugly bracket and phone hanging from the centre dash and ruining the look of the beautiful Aston interior! smile
