It's a bit like Birdman to me, another fabulous film for different reasons.

I only compared Joker to Endgame because of the way it portrays the genre. One os overtly ridiculous, and for me a monumental let down int he way last Jedi was for some Star Wars fans (not me btw)

Did I enjoy it? Not really, it was almost a documentary a film Phoenix was made to make, almost yearned for and delivered superbly.

What I did fee was scared, that this could actually happen.

A little like the premise behind V for Vendetta.

Got an email from Sky yesterday to say that as a "Sky VIP", I get a free movie, so downloaded this, and very much enjoyed this last night.. Seemed slow in parts, but built to a very good finish.

Wow, I watched this tonight and was gripped from start to finish.

I’m not really a Batman or comic book movie fan but had to watch this following the reviews.

Everything pulls together to create a truly believable story and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better performance than that of Joaquin Phoenix in this film.

I like the way the ending leaves you wondering if it happened at all, just like the relationship with his neighbour which was a fantasy.

8.5 clowns out of 10.

As a big Batman (specifically the Nolan films) fan I keep coming back to thinking about this. The one question it raises every time for me is what does the Batman look like that goes with this Joker?

Watched this on Friday and echo the main views, it's great film and I'm very much of the opinion that the entire thing is a fantasy in his head and has lead him to decide to escape Arkham (hence killing his shrink) and make "The Joker" a reality.

I can't say I was too taken by this film either, its watchable but I didn't think it was the epic that other people thought. BUT different strokes for different folks and all that smile

We watched it last weekend and thought it was good, an interesting take on the "Taxi Driver" loaner/looney tale wrapped into the Batman/Joker folklore.

We don't bother with superhero films and this at least got us to watch one.

Probably wouldn't make us watch another but I can't complain about the film-it did feel as above like it could have been about anything other than Batman/Joker with a few simple changes.

Joker: Folie a Deux confirmed. Rumoured to be a musical, possibly Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, Phoenix back again.

Gaga now confirmed.

Finally got round to watching this, and still not sure what I just watched. Absolutely superb performance from Phoenix and the film had so many subtexts and messages. A hard watch I felt, a film you have to want to see and try to understand not one for the casual viewer. Definite overtones of Taxi Driver when he was home alone 'practicing' his routine on his couch. This should be a stand alone piece I feel, job done.

'The People's Joker' comedy/parody film gets pulled from TIFF after one showing https://collider.com/the-peoples-joker-screenings-... . No official word on why but it looks like a cease and desist copyright claim by Warner and/or DC.

Wonder why hehe
