I'm glad I recently went back to Sky TV (keeping Virgin broadband).

I watch Drama lots, just for The Bill.

Looks like virgin are adding Premier Sports free as a replacement...
For two months, then you have to pay.

Freesports is the no-cost addition.

It is rather dramatic to remove all these channels.

As an aside, how do I run ordinary TV through my TV AND keep watching through Virgin at the same time?
Just plug in an aerial or satellite as normal.

Use the TV remote to switch between the TV and the TiVo input.

This is true... except for "Gold", "Alibi", "W", "Eden", and "Good Food".

There are a few new channels. I'm particularly interested in "Horse & Country". smile

Virgin are fast becoming as big a bunch of shysters as the other lot of late.

Been a VM customer since Beardies days od Dial up, but am fast becoming a disgruntled user.

Only really need Eurosport for Bike racing tbh.
Sky's basic pack, called Entertainment, includes Eurosport 1 & 2, Sky Sports Mix and Sky Sports News ...and Sky Atlantic along with much more of course; £20/month.

Ahh thought we were talking TV only.

Anyway:
- Zero cost call out fees with Sky Q
- Sky Q zero drop outs with newest dish
- Ofcom rated Sky #1 fewest number of complaints.

Ignorance is bliss though eh wobble

Or leave the broadband with VM and just use Sky's TV service...

Next year but only prioritised for people who can't have a dish. For example; listed buildings, conservation areas, flats who don't have a communial dish and who aren't allowed it on the outside of the block.

In Virgin's T&Cs it states that you are free to leave your contract with no penalty if there has been a significant change in your contract.

There's a Sky thread running in the 'Home Cinema and HiFi section of the forums which is defo worth checking out smile

Looks like Virgin are starting to be difficult about this - reports on their forum and Twitter than they're now saying this isn't a breach of contract..

They can say it on Twitter all they like. At the end of the day it's written into their T&Cs wobble.

I don't have Virgin but I do have Sky. Personally I would like all my channels through one device so that I can scan through one channel listing, and then record what I want from one list.

I'm not even sure my TV had ever been tuned to the freeview channels!

Only 5 of the 10 UKTV channels are on Freeview (and only in SD).

Aside form the initial irritation of losing the UKTV channels in the first place is the self-congratulatory message that flashes up about what they've replaced it, as though they're doing their customers a favour. Well done, Virgin. you've replaced Daveja Vu with Discovery Turbo...which I already had, you bunch of drooling incompetents.

But now you have it (and several of the other channels) listed twice in your guide. So you'll be able to watch repeats of repeats of repeats of Wheeler Dealers more easily now. smile

I lost interest in sport on TV when they took Topless Darts off.

Can't really beat virgin Broadband so wouldn't want to lose that. Last time I tried to amend my requirements and delete the landline it was more expensive not taking it!

I'll see what develops and then either see the cost to drop to the basic to package or try the breach of contract and drop it and plug the aerial back in.

Of the channels taken off I only really watched Gold when there was nothing else on.

Really unhappy with VM. Lose Dave, but that’s OK, it’s being replaced with Quest HD so can watch Wheeler Dealers in HD, only now that channel has gone.
