Considering only 2 days rehearsing they did well. Choreography can’t be easy for AJ.
I wasn't entirely sure how hold was going to work, tbh. But it seems that she's cool with him holding the truncated end of her arm like a handle.

Of course her arm is going to be the elephant in the room with the judges - I suspect they won't even comment on it, which gives her an automatic 50% pass on hand shaping.

I'm watching time delayed, so I haven't got to Anton yet.

Graziano seemed to forget the dance is about his partner not him.

(Seems Craig agreed with me too)

Knowledgeable as she is, I find Shirley deeply annoying. Darcey is so much more engaging.

hehe

In fairness to him, this isn't uncommon for a new male professional; it's not the first time we've seen it and I'm sure he'll tone it down pretty quickly.

Anton cracks me up - his sarcasm and gentle ribbing makes me chuckle.

The dance was fun and amusing, and Suzannah clearly tried hard, but she's really not a natural dancer. Anton has his work cut out for him.

he did a corporate thing I was at a few years ago - was exactly how he is on telly, very friendly and chatty, happy to pose for selfies and danced with anyone who wanted to and stayed longer than he was supposed to. I get that he was being paid to be there but even so he came across as a good egg.

I didn't think much of Katie's dance - Gorka was posing her like a doll, and moving her hands into position. She did well to recover from her mistake though.

She was clearly very nervous, though, and she's probably very conscious of herself; I would imagine the acid attack will have had a massive effect on her. And I didn't realise it had left her blind in her left eye, which will be a disadvantage for her.

But, hey, this is week 1. It's all about the journey (sorry) and improvement, so she could do well.

Danny Jules was great, Kate Silverton was better than I expected - as was Stacey Dooley.

She looked like she was really enjoying herself, which makes a lot of difference.

I'm currently watching on catchup (just about to see Anton...) and so far they've been pretty good. Some good music choices so far too.
