Quite surprised not to see Lauren in the Dance Off alongside Graham this evening. Whoever was up against Ashley was on a hiding to nothing and Graham was magnanimous in defeat especially his comment that even he would have voted for Ashley. I expect Lauren to be in the Dance Off next week as she is by far and away the worst dancer left.

It was mentioned earlier in this series. The judges scores count for 50% of the overall score.
So if that is the case, even if Ashley was bottom of the public votes, yet top of the judges score (which she was), how can that put her in the bottom two overall? I don't understand. Surely the two should average out and put her in the middle?

Faye was top, Ashley was 2nd. Lauren was bottom so Ashley would have got 6 points from the judges but she tied with Stacey so because of the weird way the BBC allocate the points Lauren got 2 from the judges not 1. i.e. 7/6/6/5/4/3/2 - Quite how Ashley got into the bottom two though is still quite a puzzle!

For once Bruno called it absolutely bang on. Good speech from Graeme, sad to see him go as a person but not as a dancer. Not understanding the public love for Lauren, regardless of her disability.

Rod Stewart’s performance was dreadful, as were the pro dancers’ to his song. Craig nailed it with his critique of Joe’s dance during the judges’ chat with Claudia, which showed how ludicrous Shirley’s and Bruno’s tens were. Ashley won’t be in the dance off next week.

Indeed, indeed ,
Can not for the life of me think why she is still in it.
She should have gone before Blackpool.

Yes, sorry. I got confused because she was top of the Lindyflopathon and somehow got it in my head that she was top of the leaderboard overall too. paperbag

The public have had enough of Ashley, dont you get it Darcy ?
The only comments about her being smug, etc seem to have come about this week with the Daily Mail having a go at her. Most blokes, and plenty of women too, have had cricket lessons at school, but it doesn't make them professionals.

Well, just as I'm bored and I can't sleep apparently the way it works is you get a point for each celeb you beat in the table. So last night the judges scores got;

So as the points added from the public vote are the same format and added to those above you can see how Ashley being bottom in the public vote would result in her being in danger.

ETA/ you could even argue that Ashley got lucky with the group dance as it allowed her to claw back some points and even finish even with Stacey and get an extra point when she would have been third in a single dance week.

Not sure if mentioned earlier, but WTF is the problem with Darcey Bussell, she can’t walk properly with some sort of shimmy , especially on the Sunday nights interview with Claudia.

It’s all very look at me.

You won't go down well on here with any criticism of Darcey !!

Personally, I think she looks absolutely wonderful, every week.

My theory is that she's had a few by that point. Watch her little dance when introduced, she often seems to literally fall into Craig or Bruno each time smile

Yup all of this is correct.

Lauren is dull to watch and never fully throws herself into it, she just has a lot of disability supporting votes now. Graham was finally improving properly and definitely better than her an deemed a nice chap too.

Rod was rubbish, as most of the old hasbeens they get on are.

Didn't get Joe's dance either and giving it 10s was ludicrous. It was fun at best.

Faye was ace and looked ace, Ashley was great but judges gave her pointless criticisms to appease the angry masses who think she shouldn't be there.

Charles looked odd doing the Tango, just not quite right for me.

Stacey rocked, great dance with great energy and timing.

Not sure I buy that. There were a number of posts in various forums saying that the weather girl with a similar arm "shouldn't be seen on TV!", so I'm not convinced there's a huge wave of 'disability support'.

My feeling is that, when interviewed she comes over as just a pleasant, unaffected person (and of course, the blue rinse brigade love AJ even more than Kevin! biggrin )

She probably is the weakest dancer left, though.

Agree on this. Not a big fan of her generally, but she nailed that!

Most series there's one dancer that really gells with a dance and totally dominates it - Stacey did that.

Mrs Harpoon and I agreed it was a pretty poor music (Eleanor Rigby) for Charles & Karen's tango - just didn't fit the dance.

I'm also finding the endless booing of anything other than "amazing" or "fab-u-lous" from the judges damn annoying now.

I think what it showed was that eventually when the number of couples drops, the public vote has more influence and like last year people are turned off by ex dancers or shall we say trained performers competing against beginners.

Ashley wasn't top of the leader board and the public vote dragged her down into the DO. or lack of public vote to be more precise.

I expect the four finalists to be jo, faye, stacey and up until last night Ashley - I reckon charles has a chance now after that vote last night.

it depends also on what dance you get in the latter stages, Latin can be a curse especially for the male celebs.

The issue with Ashley and Faye is ok so they are not ballroom and latin dancers but they have had to learn routines - they are not being taught TO dance they are being taught A dance I.E. a routine - its an obvious advantage for those that have had years or learning routines especially dance routines.

Ashley judges on Dancing on Ice previously and she is listed on wiki as a dancer. the public just like it to be a fair balanced playing field.

I'd really like Stacey or Joe to win
