I watch it but 100% record it to FF through all the crap.
I cant stand the hairy faced bloke. His 'modifying' section is just so pointless.
I do like it when they look at what could you buy for £????.
When they had him on for installing a DAB unit in the Audi S4, did I hear correctly him say...."this 2003 V6 version packed a 339 horsepower V8" I cant stand the hairy faced bloke. His 'modifying' section is just so pointless.

Yes, he said b6 not v6. Actually quite a good show this time. Only criticism would be they could have used an OEM replica head unit rather than a Pioneer that looks like an 80’s Halfords special.

Let's fit an aftermarket / bigger turbo to a 2012 Corsa VXR. Get it RR'd first and find that somehow in the last 6 years it's lost exactly 40bhp and gone from the standard circa 200bhp down to about 160bhp. Sets about fitting new bigger turbo & puts the car back on the RR - end result - power back up to barely 5bhp over what the car has when it leaves the factory on the standard turbo
And that's ignoring the fact that there's no consideration for other supporting mods like cooling or more importantly the engine map due to the turbo change. Mind you, i was surprised that he didn't wang on another eBay special cone filter, like he did with the Subaru, whilst doing the turbo
If they keep that segment for the next series in 2019, i think i'll have to start skipping it tbh

Did they not mess up with the power thing?Let's fit an aftermarket / bigger turbo to a 2012 Corsa VXR. Won't Vauxhalls claimed power be at the crank and fifth gear then took the power at the wheels figure?

I’ve removed this from my planner. It’s not a great show sadly.
Even poorer than before: not enough Tiff and VBH (even with the schoolgirl squealing); too many presenters; little cohesion; find Karon (sic?) useless (don’t mind him in C4 F1) - last nights Cayman vs M2 was rubbish (‘oh the M2 spins its inside wheel’. Really? Does it not have an LSD? Have you tried M mode...:roll eyes: ); modding section is utterly pointless. They could easily have done a better job.

I really don't get why they have him on the show at all? Utterly pointless. I still can't forgive him for the atrocious cars they ''built'' on Goblin. He even tried to defend their skills on the Goblin Works Garage facebook page but went strangely quiet when I mentioned all the invoices in the Capri's history when it went to auction after the series finished, showing it was built elsewhere. I get TV is all smoke and mirrors but taking credit for someone else's albeit tasteless work, is a piss take.Let's fit an aftermarket / bigger turbo to a 2012 Corsa VXR. The liberal use of fast forward is the only way of making this show entertaining as others have said it's an odd mix of features & too many hosts. Who is it supposed to appeal to or is it trying too hard to have something for everyone I wonder?.
Yeah I watched a couple a few Weeks ago a found it a bit of a mish mash. The guy modding cars- anyone into modding (fairly niche these days isn't it ?) wouldn't be watching 5th gear for tip's, and same for vbhs "buying tips" that just felt inauthentic. Oh and Ronnie giving us the "geezers" verdict on some lump. All a bit cheap and desperate really. I quite enjoyed last nights, just as some painless viewing. Other than the turbo upgrade which was biblically stupid seeing as the didn’t even mention any remapping to go with the new turbo and ended up with a car barely more powerful than it came out of the factory.
Tiff and Potato always good fun for the competitive niggle between them and Chandhok is ok for track reviews even if a bit wooden in manner, he’s definitely not at a Harris or Catchpole level.

Beardy guy's segments are painful, both the content and in particular his presenting style (pause after every four words of which one is emphasised. Can't watch him.
I think the whole thing has lost its way.
As someone else said, they're trying too hard to be all things to all people.

It annoys me when he criticises the cars on the new car test, e.g. boot floor carpet on the Volvo, saying it's all about the detail. I suggest he looks again at some of the crap that Goblin Works turned out.I think the whole thing has lost its way.

Just watched the last episode and agree the VXR Turbo upgrade was cringeworthy, just waiting for social media posts where young lads have slapped on a bigger turbo with no other mods and are complaining the car now runs like a bag of nails!
I do wish they would get basic facts and figures correct though, VBH saying the V6 Mustang can hit 157mph with the V8 giving more was a joke, the V6 is limited to 113mph, the limiter can be removed but to go faster the drive shaft will need replacing as Ford for some reason decided to fit one that is likely to give up at around 120-125mph (the V8 is limited to 155mph)
