I assumed it was the flat they all lived in prior to her leaving him ?

Oh, I'd assumed they were the keys to the safe house, as he'd sneaked out while she thought he was on the sofa and might have wanted to get back in, to disguise leaving in the first place. I recall wondering why he wouldn't just tap on the door and have the police guard let him in.

Back to the Romeo and Juliet theory, there is a character in the play called Samson, and of course Ann Sampson in the TV series.

All the names, just sound like placeholders that they didn't bother changing.

Just binge watched 1 to 4 and looking forward to Ep 5!

I’m surprised this thread isn’t busier to be honest....

Excellent in my opinion and won’t be surprised if awards are won.

How long would it take them to find out 'scarfaces' identity in the real world? Ex-forces man would have a trail of paper work that he would never be able to shake, they'd know who he was in 5 mins flat, and have Budd up as an associate 5 mins later, yet they still haven't worked out that connection yet?!
Enjoying it but this is my main issue.
That had been troubling me, too.

But it now appears he was somehow part of the conspiracy......

I think, maybe.. There's now too many loops/locations.

I'm lost in who's on who's side, who's talking to who, where everything happened..

Still, another good episode.

Well spotted. And given what we saw tonight she’s clearly involved in the conspiracy in some way.

which one, i count 3. it has got a bit convoluted.

It is still interesting but too much story left for the last episode to tie up.

I can't see the final episode concluding anything, we may get a few answers, my guess it will be a cliffhanger, ready for the next series.

Unfortunately some posters couldn't see past the fact that there was more than one Woman in authority as it was all terribly unrealistic (despite the fact is wasn't). I guess some people just can't bear to enjoy anything on the BBC.

When threads start that way, I think it puts off a lot of others.

They couldn't help themselves in the last episode.

That guy wouldn't have gone to see the wife and they wouldn't have parked the RR outside the cafe unless they were monumentally stupid.

Such a shame as it actually got good again for a bit.

It could be more evidence of the arrogance of the various factions involved to uniformly underestimate Budd.

I’ve been watching this. My wife loves it, I really don’t. Now this hasn’t got anything to do with underlying misogynistic traits on my part.
It very unrealistic, not because of who is in charge, but because lots of little things seem wrong. The cumulative effect is to spoil ones overall enjoyment of what could have been an entertaining series,

This is the closest I can get to an explanation

As a side note; I’ve not read all of the thread, but I can’t be the only one who thinks the Home Secretary is 100% not dead?

Reference was always made to "The Death Star" - picture - and the Home Sec commented similarly to Budd, so it was the clue for Budd to look in that when he went back with the counter terrorism sgt. to the Home Sec's apartment.

The building was a bit easy to access from the rear, though, whilst an officer guarded the front door 24/7? scratchchin

I am really enjoying this, a fantastic series. I was a bit disappointed originally when he started the affair with Julia as this seemed far fetched, then I was disappointed that they killed her off, but it is really coming along for me in the lead up to the final ep.

My money is on there being a cliffhanger at the end of the final episode for the 2nd series smile
