It was a shame, I really liked the concept. A bit more attention to detail, and some really good scrutiny of the plot and script and it could have been a winner.

Did budds gun still have blanks in it at the end?

Also how is he a better bomb diffuser than the guy who's job it is? He just needed to short between two relay blocks and that disarmed the vest?
He wasn't, he had nothing to lose and accepted he was going to die either from being shot by CT-SFO, his thumb giving up or a remote detention so it was worth bridging the relays and hoping for the best. Bomb Disposal guy could just walk back a few metres (seemed a bit close to me, but hey ho) and evaluate for a solution with a better chance of success I guess he (bomb guy) might have done it himself, but when the Chief or whoever ordered the wider cordon and David Wife ran in, it was taken out of his hands.

They said the original bombers vest was destroyed but she survived, how does that work!
They blew it up after they took it off her?

It was very, very, very silly. Plot holes the size of Jupiter.

But lighten up folks, it was Sunday night entertainment, not ANY attempt at realism.

As long as you employed all your 'willing suspension of disbelief' it was ok. Not as good as Line of Duty mind (which was equally full of holes).

Still can't get past Robb Stark though. His acting is so much better when he's on a horse and not driving a Nissan Qashqui.

...Episode 1 would have been better had the train been hauled by a Deltic.
Given that would have made it either a period piece or set in a timewarp I think a Deltic would be better off in the next episode of Dr Who smile
Was the programme supposed to be realistic? It was certainly warped. Some Deltic exhaust emissions could only have added to the air of mystery.

The BBC have no chance with all the amateur bomb makers and specialist police watching. They might as well stick to the dancing programmes - although the vast swathes of world champion ballroom dancers will have something to say about it.

My issue wasn't the lack of realism or holes in the script....up until the last episode it had been a good watch, the last episode was crap

it all seemed a bit rushed to me, too much going on for the last episode, they needed to open up the story a bit earlier in the series.

This.

I watched it with my wife and the cynic in me ripped it to shreds. Plenty of divvies (10.4m apparently (less us cynics)) who wouldn't be looking for the blazing errors and thus still good drama. But then The Sun is a good newspaper. That's the measure.

A very simple example.....He WOKE up with his thumb taped to a dead man's trigger? WTF? When I sleep I'm just about the same as being dead!! If he could sleep through it he could be awake through it surely?

I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it but I'm far more inclined to believe Toy Story than this.

After many, many people talking about it at work I decided to watch it all this weekend.

Flows quite well when you watch the episodes back to back, you kinda switch your brain off.

It was good I will give you that, there was plot holes and such that weren't answered but entertaining, very much so.

HOWEVER, and this is a big one for me, it is not the best drama on tele in the last decade despite constantly hearing this. It was decent, yes. But in terms of some of the content on Netflix its no where close.

It's beaten Downton Abbey and call the midwife. I would not be putting that on the trailer or dvd box.

Yes, last episode was rushed and tied everything up too easily. The entire bomb part was ridiculous.

Blanks. If you're a pro crook, you'd wear gloves when burgling a flat, so no prints.
Why replace live rounds with blanks?
How do you know the calibre? Or do you always carry a large selection?

Also, anyone experienced with guns would check the clip/magazine before doing anything with it.

Still watchable and enjoyable.

This is peak Pistonheads: full of armchair scriptwriters who could have done it far better.

None of whom have written a six-part series, the finale of which attracts 10 million viewers. rolleyes

Didn't do much for plod recruitment though did it? Be an organised criminal or associate and you drive around in a top spec newish Disco or M3, plod meanwhile a base spec 8 year old Qashqai for you matey, oh and you might get a medal, or the sack.

As Joe Lycett mid troll might say "Medals butter no parsnips"

Glad it isn't just me. Watched the first episode a couple of days ago and thought it was a load of nonsense.

We won't be back.
Did you like tin star?
I have no idea what you are talking about.

I watch very little TV.
Lol so you come on here to post up about the why and where with all about it’s flaws and it turns out you watch bugger all TV. As such this could be the best thing ever made on tv since the start of time or not.

So unless you've written a 6 part mini series we're not allowed to criticise it? rolleyes

Wasn’t it 15million?

What’s with all the agression on this thread? Seems disruptive.

Or full of people who just think it's a load of unrealistic bks, which of course they're entitled to think.

I lost a bit of enthusiasm when they gave the suicide vest a good 20 yards exclusion zone. Because you can't be too careful, can you?
