I’m a big musical fan so Elaine Paige is really good tonic.
Alan Carr with Mel Sykes works really really well IMHO although he makes far too much effort about him being t total blah blah blah.

Steve Wright Sunday morning love songs how can you not enjoy a bit of background boogie

You and the four of them need to bugger off to Radio 3 or 4!

Sunday love songs may well be ok but Steve Wright is 20 years past his sell-by date.

Just like everyone else at Radio 2, Evans especially. I have to stick up for Wrighty as pretty much the only Londoner on National Radio. I never listen to R2.

Chris Evans has been loving the sound of his own voice for too long but with Zoe Ball there won't be time for music, I am amazed how she can talk such bks for so long!

I will have to find a new station until 9:30

Haha

I’m guessing the username “85” relates to your birth year? If so your younger than me so probably don’t recall the dot com crash? Etc. wink.

You're right about the first bit, but I remember the .com crash fairly well. I also listened to both Ball and Evans on Radio 1 as a kid.

I can't remember what Zoe Ball was like on R1, other than she also had Kevin Greening with her for some of the time, and he was quite funny sometimes. I'll give it a go, see what it's like.

Keep them well away from Radio 4, if you don't mind.

Uttterly predictable but such a shame they couldn’t go for the best person rather than the best woman. Can’t stand Zoe Ball, and will be an instant retune.

Retuned already. Sorry, Zoe, I'd rather listen to your Dad because he is actually interesting

Q do you listen to CE now? If not then to R2 you do not represent a lost breakfast show listener.
I split between R4/R2 and local radio on the commute

He was on R1 Saturday lunchtime for a while, then all over the place (he used to give his email out as supply.dj@radio1, when emails were new), then he joined Zoe Ball on the breakfast. I can't remember whether he was with her at the start and then left her to get on with it once she'd got some confidence, or whether she started it on her own and he turned up a bit later to help things along, I forget the sequence. You don't hear quite so much of him since he died.

WRT Zoe Ball, she is the BBC's goto transient presenter. I expect she will be replaced within 2 years once the 'first female Radio 2 breakfast show' hype is past.

Neither great or st. Better than Coxy. Liked Greening but he was rather in the background back then.

Zoe Ball? Christ. Stunning lack of imagination by the BBC. She must have a telephone book full of dirt.
