Zoe Ball? Christ. Stunning lack of imagination by the BBC. She must have a telephone book full of dirt.
We really need someone to research her to the nth degree, analyse all her business deals, see how successful she's been (or not), then launch a vitriolic campaign against her for no logical reason. Edited by Otispunkmeyer on Wednesday 3rd October 22:30
I wonder if there's anyone on this thread with such a pedigree?

You neglected to mention that they must dislike her prior to embarking on said obsessive research.

She's good 'middle of the road' for what is a middle of the road programme. Who do you feel would be better ?Edited by Otispunkmeyer on Wednesday 3rd October 22:30
Evans is a pretty talented broadcaster (TV and Radio) but I did feel that in the past few years he was getting more annoying as he started to bring his personal life more and more into the show.
I also got the feeling that in recent months he's been pretty fed up with doing the Breakfast Show.
Not too keen on Zoe Ball - thought Sara Cox would have been a better choice as she's quite listen-able when she subs for Evans. Not too shouty and sometimes displays some subtle humour.

Probably fed up when he saw how much the BBC respected his talent with the new pay offer. I also got the feeling that in recent months he's been pretty fed up with doing the Breakfast Show.

He's always brought his personal life into shows. His original (and great) Radio London show in the 1990s was called "Round at Chrisses" (spelling for clarity). When he married Carol, his first wife it became "Round at Chris' with his Mrs". She did the what's on in London by reading out of Time Out. They split up acrimoniously and one day, out of the blue he called her at home, live on-air and got her to do the what's on.
He never bettered "duvet of don't they", or "The kids are alright (as long as they are completely wrong)" which was couples bonking and taking the piss out of eight year olds.

You know, it's odd how much the press have made of "Zoe Ball being the first female breakfast presenter" given how often Sara Cox has stood in for Chris Evans over the last two years, it's not exactly only been the odd one here or there! She's stood in enough times to have all her own jingles/phrases/daily routines.kev1974 said:

I agree plus both Zoe Ball and Sara Cox have hosted the Radio 1 Breakfast Show previously.kev1974 said:

Which just makes it all the more strange that the bods at the BBC chose the less talented of the pair of them.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
