Chris starting on Virgin next Monday 21st I believe, Zoe Ball starting on Radio 2 tomorrow. Mediocre Mark Goodier on last week to set the bar low for her, hope she does well but I'll be giving virgin a shot, got a car DAB solution coming on Tuesday.
Virgin still doesn't have the artist and track list on DAB text. I started listening to Virgin Anthems last week. Three days later it was clear there was a lack of anthems.
The current Virgin shows also seem a bit basic. Unless things drastically change R11co(or his other login Aquilea) will be having a field day once Evans starts. It'll be all his fault.

I liked what I heard of Zoe's show this morning. I think/hope she'll do well with it.
I found it pretty hard to find anything to dislike - unless of course you dislike her voice (which is difficult to justify as it’s appealing/normal)I think Nigel Farage would have great.

I can't understand the hatred for Evans.
I can't understand the liking for Evans. He always comes over as a rather needy little twit, desperate for attention (eg his "I'm great on TG and everyone loves it, so you're all wrong" tantrums) to me, which given...

But he's considerably richer than yow, in fact he's got loadsamoney.

OK, if you don't like him fair enough.
Good luck to him.
... quite right, just so long as he stays on some obscure Radio Station and doesn't clutter up the programmes I might want to watch or listen. Good luck to him.
Now, if only Radio Albania could tempt Claudia Winkelwitch with a 3 hour morning show...

I see from one of the tabloids today that Evans is promoting his new show with the help of his wife and kids. There's a video of them holding up placards with instructions on how to tune into Virgin radio. Slightly worrying was the open admission from Evans that his family (especially the young 'uns will be regularly airing on the show), so no change from Radio 2 then!

Saw the advert myself. I'd forgotten what an unbearable the man is.Anyone else listen for a bit this morning? Only caught some and thought it was pretty decent, no ads, making multiple references to not being constrained by BBC playlists.
Richard Ashcroft was playing live, Sharleen Spiteri must have been busy
It'll be very interesting indeed to see how this plays out.

Tried out his show on Virgin this morning and it was not a good experience.
Reception on the SD National DAB multiplex carrying Virgin has unexplainedly deteriorated in my area in recent months with lots of dropouts, and when the signal does get through it is transmitted single channel (mono) 80kbps per second. Bearing in mind DAB uses ancient MP1 compression so with the ultra low-grade sound quality and all the glitches farts and pops when going under bridges or past buildings it was like listening to an old AM station!!
Regardless of how good the show might have been that's just useless, so after today 'i'm oot' (although between the interruptions I did catch that Thursday's special guests are....... Texas!)

You're stting me!! I thought I was joking!!I also thought the sound quality was crap - a lot of echos especially when Rachel from Norn Iron was on about breakdowns on the roundabout Southbound on the M80. I thought maybe it was my new radio.

Evans clearly thinks it's still the 1990s. Richard Ashcroft was playing live, Sharleen Spiteri must have been busy
