Can’t be long before Seasick Steve pops up too.
You can also bet on Rick Astley and Ocean Colour Scene.

Special guests will include James Martin, Kirsty Allsop, Tom Kerridge etc, etc, etc.

Just that they are very close friends, and despite the fact that Texas as a band haven't had a hit single since 2006, Spiteri pops up extremely regularly on Chris Evans brand radio - and Top Gear
Don't they play at Carfest too ? They were at Le Mans last year as well. They were ok, not quite as annoying as Jamiroqui, who were also there.

Dropped in on this thread to see if the show is any good. Just read a whole page and I still have no idea (except Spiteri is on again, in a surprise to absolutely nobody).
What's the thing about Charlene Spiteri and the Chris Evans show?

They clearly have a lot in common.

Neither have been any good since the 1990s. If they were actually any good back then.

That's a matter of opinion and wasn't the purpose of my question.

Evans is irrelevant to me.
Yet you have 71 posts on this thread alone and a quick look numerous references to Evans in other threads.

You're the 4th person on this forum that relentlessly goes on about Evans and clearly pays a lot of attention to what he does. You all post the very same stuff on the same threads.

Irrelevant? It comes across as an obsession. The same obsession as the other person with multiple profiles.

To add to my point - this is a trick that a lot of people use, i think, but I suppose if the collective "likes" the person in question its probably allowed to slip by.

Evans is more divisive and less avoidable than others, or has been, and his band of popular "go-to" guests has become well known I think partly because of how ubiquitous Evans has been.

Agents/promoters all work together, need to fill a gap, have a list of people. Evans has his, others have theirs, probably quite standard in the business

Put Chris on this morning again and guess who the live band were.... Reef!! Another one off his standard list. Nothing wrong with a bit of Place your hands of a Friday morning commute all the same.

The sound quality as we have previously discussed is rubbish, which makes it pretty painful listening for me. But if you can get past that the content of the show is similar to before, maybe slightly edgier in a good way. Constantly banging on about programmes on Sky as they sponsor the show, but I suppose he did the same about BBC stuff before.

I have to say Zoe is much better than I expected, and barking mad Cox at drivetime is excellent, so Radio 2 still gets a fair bit of listening time from me.

Is he still on? Haven't missed him at all.

Zoe took a few weeks to settle in but I have to say the last few days I've really enjoyed her show, "Friends Friday" or whatever they call it is pretty similar to what Chris Evans did on Friday guest days but subtly better, maybe the choice of guests, Keith Urban was a good laugh this morning and made up for dreary Dido. At first Zoe was forever mentioning "my best mate, honest" Sara Cox like she was trying too hard to say "sorry I've nicked your job" but now she's calmed down on that it's better all round.

And yes Sara is a triumph in the evening, much better than I expected, and last night I happened to be driving around a lot and we got a bonus hour of Cox because Whiley's train was broken. Was nice to hear Sara and Country Bob just chatting away at one point while they were covering for Jo Whiley, without tons of pre-prep.

Chris Evans? Who?

He has to bang on about Sky, because their sponsorship means they don't have commercials during the show. I've listened a fair bit since it started and it's alright to be honest, he has had some good/interesting guests on amongst the 'regulars' of James Martin etc etc.

I have abandoned Radio 2 altogether I can't stomach Zoe Ball or Sara Cox or Dick Vine so I can't even be bothered tuning in for Ken Bruce.
Haven't missed Evans.

Entirely possible to have the radio on all day in the office, as I used to at my previous workplace

We have radios on in our office, I listen to Virgin and Magic, the other office tends to have Absolute. Just turn it off during conf-calls.

Yes but I listen when I'm in the car, in the office and when I work from home. Not in court though. They tend to frown on that.

Is there any official numbers yet for listeners? Or will it be after the end of March?

Be interesting to see what the state of play is

Choice and competition and differing taste is a great thing.

It’s a shame we cannot get reception for all these stations no matter where we are in the U.K. - or driving.

I’ve gotten a bit bored or Today and PM too it’s dull bland etc. Instead buy some albums
