I'm only on episode 2, resisting the urge to binge the whole lot.. Very glad it's been renewed for series 2.
Jodie Comer is brilliant as lead actress, surprising she hasn't been in anything else noteworthy - She plays the character perfectly.
She's pretty young, and has played some challenging supporting roles. She seems to have been on TV a lot, usually the sort of series my wife likes to watch like Dr Foster and Thirteen. Got a good future ahead I reckon.Jodie Comer is brilliant as lead actress, surprising she hasn't been in anything else noteworthy - She plays the character perfectly.
This series is very lazily written.
There are two key elements of any story, motivation and character limitations, and the episode and a half that I watched showed a clear lack of both. Firstly the motivation which consists of 'I like killing people', and 'I'm being paid to do it'. So psychopath and mercenary, easy stuff for the writer there. Then there's the limitations. The essence of any story is how are the characters going to achieve their aims given their limitations? Easy solution, no limitations! She can go where she wants, do what she wants and speak any convenient languages in the process.

FWIW I enjoyed it, looking forward to a second series.

You've massively overanalysed what is just meant to be a fun, slightly ridiculous entertainment series! There are two key elements of any story, motivation and character limitations, and the episode and a half that I watched showed a clear lack of both. What are your thoughts on James Bond? Too much driving fast in cars, not enough filing paperwork back at the office?

To be honest, I'd prefer it if Bond did more paperwork, certainly more intelligence agency tradecraft. The obligatory, and usually pointless trashing of supercars in a Bond film is probably my least favourite part of the films. singlecoil said:

In the positive camp.
I did think for one minute they were going to cop out with a lesbian love story ending (which I wondered aloud to my wife a couple of weeks ago), but I though that was a cracking finale!
Looking forward to a second series!

I was very surprised that with such a wound she'd be able to move anywhere, but this isn't real life, huh?....
