I second that, i am with you. The show did a complete turnaround immediately after Negan bashed their brains in. It consistently went downhill after that episode; complete nosedive IMO and my mother and I (the show is sort of me and moms Sunday evening ritual) both became unenamored after that episode for quite a long time. M
We still watched it but our enthusiasm waned (waned or wained?) quickly, to the point where we sometimes skipped an episode or two entirely.
The show has become so bland, and I think even die-hard WD fans would agree with that statement. I mean just think about it, what REALLY happens afterall during an episode?
Each episode pretty much opens up with a shot of a zombie or group of zombies walking and then the camera pans out to reveal a character walking up to said zombie(s) and smacking it in the head. The opening i described is the "hook" but does nothing at all to set the tone for the episode because the story then moves onto some somber looking characters who are sitting on a bench or something and we then have a 10 minute conversation we end up having to sit through.
I mean if you really broke down each episode the majority of them could with all the action within could be condensed to 15 to 20 minutes easily. Nothing really happens other than lots of empty scenes showing them walking or having soap opera like conversations that are incredibly boring, a few random thrown in walkers which are of no threat anymore stumble into a scene or two which they nonchalantly kill and then and then a crisis occurs which usually ends up being caused by a completely dumb decision on one of the characters and they find themselves on the ground fumbling around to get up and just before they get bitten someone comes from nowhere and kills the walker. And dont even get me started on how many times they will show a character driving fast on an empty road...because you can bet your life on it that if that is happening somehow they will end up swerving and flipping the car a few times and end up stranded, killed or trapped and eaten.
The only saving grace for the show and the only reason i am going to stick with it for a lite while longer is from what Scott Gimpy boy had announced on The Talking Dead after Ricks final episode the other night. It sounds pretty interesting.
And I had told myself that Ricks final episode was going to be my last viewing.

Gimple announced that AMC is making full length movies starring Rick Grimes and showing his adventures starting from wherever that chopper is bringing him. And then of course you have seen the previews of the next 3 episodes TWD showing a huge time leap into the future without Rick but showing hia daughter taking over wearing his hat and all that an Negan is still alive.
It will be interesting to see where the Rick Grimes full length series goes to and if he will ever cross paths with TWD main universe ever again down the line.

Hmm, talking walkers. Im not too sure about this. And to be honest i dont even think i would have caught on to it had i not had the closed captions on.
I have to say this though. They seriously would not have a plot or show AT ALL if it wasnt for thr characters constantly making stupid decisions. I.e. the ladder falling and he hurts his knee. The kid not listening to Carol and just running off to the first person yelling for help.
Also, 8 years has gone by from last episode. So whag has Rick been up to for 8 years? I wonder if the films will take place on the time line from when Rick wakes up from the helicopter and work its way up to the 8th year or...

As per the comic book stories it's a new group called The Whisperers who move about in walker skins. Bit stupid if you ask me as now they have more chance of getting an arrow in the knee

Baby RJ (Rick Junior)...that's ricks Kid with Michonne...she must have been pregnant when he died
I thought it was a decent enough episode, some massive plotholes as always, with Maggie and Henry running around like idiots, Gene falling off the tower etc.
The CGI bird at the beginning was much better than the deer from a few seasons ago (remember that?

Yes, it was actually refreshing for TWD that they didn't feel the need for a character to have a slightly awkward conversation with another to confirm with the audience that it was Rick's baby and he was pregnant when he disappeared. But they've got Talking Dead for all that I suppose. Yup they are whisperers, who i guess is what the rest of season will be about..!

TWD does seem to have come alive again, to a certain extent, I don't know if the ending points towards Carol and Daryl leaving though.
