Are we gonna find out about the chopper next week? This show has now been reduced to "on in the back ground whilst I work from home" but a few scenes piqued my interest today to make me think it may be worth watching live next week.

It will be worth watching for the next two weeks, because Rick's leaving! Yay!

This isn't a spoiler, BTW - they are making it pretty public themselves.

However, there is a worrying rumour surrounding this:

Apparently, they haven't ruled out him returning in later series, which possibly means he won't actually die. frown

hehe Show thread isn't even worthy of a bump on Monday nights or Tuesday now.

So that's that (I think)!

Is that the last we see of Rick leaving the vague loose thread that he probably is a goner or he might survive and pop up in the future unexplained?

Or do we get another scene swinging that notion further/decisively either way?

I managed to convince the Wife to leave it till today so we could watch on catch-up without ads, they're appalling on Fox.

The fact they've offered a countdown to Rick leaving rather than putting it in as a surprise for fans probably tells you all you need to know about how desperate they are for viewers now.

Ironically, TWD has become a zombie, it's dead, but still roams about aimlessly waiting for someone to plunge a knife into it's skull to put it out of it's misery.

I genuinely think getting rid of Rick will help. I have never understood why everyone decided he should be in charge in the first place; he constantly pisses people off by making stupid decisions.

I think they need to get back to the days when in each episode, something actually happened. They seem to spend far too much time sprinkling crumbs and dropping hints about stuff without actually moving the story on.

I was annoyed by Michonne telling Negan "We're making Government, and laws. We're building a future." Hang on love, the only reason you're in any kind of senior role is because you're Rick's girlfriend, and nobody really has any idea why the fk he's in charge in the first place, so stop fking swaggering around like Billy Big bks!

For me, the best result would be to let Negan out, and then kill him. Then rescue Rick, patch him up and then chuck him in Negan's cell. Everyone from Alexandria can then take turns to wee on him through the window.

I watched it last night.

Chatting.
Fight.

Hole.
Horse not scared by zombies.
Horse scared by zombies.
Rick falls onto the only bit of metal sticking out of a concrete block at a road junction in the middle of nowhere. How did the concrete get there, what was it doing, this is a back story I really want to know about.

Agreed, for me the show needs a complete sea change. The story is told, I know it's a bit of a cliche to say it but characters come and go, but they've all become a variation on a theme.

If TWD is just about survival in a post zombie apocalypse, then I think after 130 odd episodes we know all we need to know about it, what's left is a bit of personal relationship soap opera and what's now a laughable variation in how deadly or otherwise everything is - sometimes a single person with a knife can wipe out 2 dozen zoms as they dutifully queue up to be stabbed in the head. Sometimes a single zom can creep up on someone who stands still trying to look scared whilst a slow, weak, rotting corpse bites them on the shoulder/neck area.

I think if all they do is spin the wheel again and give us another set of characters who'll form a difficult alliance in a new safe haven that's under constant threat of a new Boss Baddie and his hence men even my Wife will give up and so can I.

No sodding helicopter! I will only watch one or two more seasons before I give up if that helicopter doesn't get explained!

Trash woman going through with the elaborate catch a zombie, tie up priest, almost kill priest with zombie, chicken out, chloroform priest, set priest free bks, was, well, bks.

As was Rick falling on that fking rebar rofl

And michonne, who by now is essentially a fully trained ninja, missing the zombie walking upto her rofl

The whole episode was a st show tbh.

I’m guessing the only reason to return to this series is for an insomnia cure?

I did look for this thread a couple of days ago to see if there were any updates, then decided I was still so disheartened about the show that I couldn’t be arsed to hunt it down hehe cheers for bumping it biggrin

This has really annoyed me. I knew Andrew Lincoln was leaving but assumed it would be at the end of series, Mrs Badger had no idea at all he was even leaving. Settled down to watch the episode and the announcer on Fox before the show started said 'and now the first of Rick's last two episodes' or something like that. She look at me like 'whaaaaaat?!' Then I told her he was leaving but assumed it was at the end. Really not cool to spoil it just to rake in the viewers.

This bit did seem like a total waste of time. She could have just smoked in the head with something and walked off. Where the fk did she get chloroform from anyway?

From the ending it looks like they are going drag Rick being killed over the entire next episode with lots of pointless arty st.

I swear one episode would easily cover the actual content of the entire season easily. Whatever they are paying the writer it's too much.

yes

Always thought TWD worked better in earlier seasons by killing off main characters unexpectedly. In all seriousness, and putting aside the (many) negatives about the show as it stands, how much better would it have been if they'd kept Rick's departure secret, then out the blue mid-season have him killed off?

I'd have bloody loved it. As it is, because I knew it was happening, I've done all my celebrating, and yet he's still bloody there.

Definitely and that's what Daryl was saying to Rick that he was happier in the early days just getting through each day plus it's what we're seeing with Michonne, she loves to get back out there.

Didn't it show Rick walking over the bridge all fked up at the end credits?

Agree, imagine all the hype etc if he just died with n spoilers...everyone would be like WTF!!! Instead we now all know it's happening so just waiting for him to pop off.

There quite a few pictures going around but people don't know if he's managed to escape and lead the walkers away or if it's all a hallucination as Hershel & Shane make an appearance..!

Yep, this way everyone's a bit "meh, when's it going to happen". If they'd kept it under wraps until the release date it would probably have been one of the biggest events in TV history.

Yep, think we'll end up with an hour of flashbacks and cryptic messages about fk all, then he'll drag himself to the middle of the half finished bridge to lure the herd of walkers and sacrifice himself to make it collapse, saving everyone. He'll end up going in as well, presumed dead. But with enough ambiguity if they ever want to write him back into the script.

In light of tonight being Ricks last episode I decided to watch season 1 of TWD. I forgot how good it was. I binged it, i couldn't stop watching. The zombies act differently in season 1 to now too.

Edited to say that Shane was/is one ugly looking mug. And it never dawned on me what a two timing slagut Lori was. LoL

Well most of the zombs will be around 5 years old by now it's the only way to explain the massive hordes that are still around, or whatever time scale they have since we have never seen a winter. So they will be more fragile and slower moving, it's the only way they can creep up on ninja Michonne without her hearing them.

I saw the last episode but missed the previous I didn't bother watching it I found a reaction video on youtube which would show all the necessary bits and watched the 10minutes of episode they showed. It seemed to work well but I was amazed how sold into it the American reactor was. They might even be sad to see Rick go.
