Great! So now whenever I watch the climax of Endgame, all I’m going to hear is Jennifer Saunders singing.

But, yeah, that was brilliant.

I’m actually surprised only two of us mentioned or noticed this. I’m actually very liberal, but even I rolled my eyes at this.
I too am surprised that a bigger deal hasn’t been made of it here. I have nowhere near the level of issues with these things that many do here (I love The Last Jedi, hell I quite enjoyed the new Ghostbusters!) but it was incredibly jarring. They kinda did it in Infinity War too though (4 women fighting), but that felt a little more organic than this, which was ridiculously forced and shoe-horned in.
Just got around to seeing this movie on Blu Ray and I think towards the end they are just showing the direction Marvel are going to go now they have got rid of many of the original characters.

I regard it as fair warning for the future rather than something that ruined this movie. Guardians of the Galaxy looks like it will be better than ever with Thor joining them and if he gets bored with them he can team up with the true Hulk as in Thor 3. As for the rest of the new Marvel movies think I will give it a miss thanks tumbleweed

Well James GUnn is back in charge at GotG3, so it should still be fun, and Taika is in charge of THor4, and Thor3 was good fun (non Asgard bits). Black Widow has a Winter Soldier vibe (which was one of my faves). THe big unknown is THe Eternals. An obscure 70s comic updated for today. I'm actually rather interested in that one, as I know little about it and have no investment in the characters.

So, just like the Guardians of the Galaxy. smile
I actually read more ofThe Eternals than Guardians.

My mate is working all hours in Eternals at the moment. (Although it’s hard to have sympathy when he gets to spend time with Angelina Jolie.)

biggrin I did think of that but knew it wouldn't need pointing out to nerds.
I like the lead of Eternals, have mixed feelings on Jon SNow as Black KNight, but I hope it's good.
And ANgelina.... cloud9
what does your mate do?

In charge of Health & Safety. (I think he’s now responsible for all MCU productions based in the UK.)
His background is close personal protection for VIPs, so apparently it’s an excuse to put himself on the private jet with the A list stars.

Black Widow should have had her own movie before now. Seems a bit strange to have one, after her character has been killed off. It will have a tendency to seem like some of the Babylon 5 TV movies made after the show and shoehorned in, with action without consequences because we already know all the key characters survive. As one YouTube comment video said, right movie wrong time.

As I said looking forward to new Guardians movie.

Thor 4- Natalie Portman as Thor scratchchin. Who not only looks like she would struggle to lift a basic claw hammer was also fairly wooden her last outing in the MCU. If that is their "new direction" count me out of those sorts of movies.

I'm off the reverse opinion about out of time movies. I wouldn't expect the titular character to die in a film anyway (unless MCU were really experiment or it was the fourth or something), but it can be chance to experience characters that are dead (I'm gonan guess there's a big cameo in it), plus I'm really interested in what they do with the russian Captain AMerica, Red Guardian.
As for THor 4 I see it as win/win. If it stinks we won't get anymore of that and if it's ace, then ace! I'm also hoping for some sort of Beta Ray Bill inclusion.

I’m not sure everyone noticed in Thor Ragnarok, the Hulk was living in a tower with Beta Ray Bill’s face carved on it. Personally I hope they ignore this so he can have a proper origin.

I never noticed when I watched it but saw it later on a yt video (Gladiator is also there?). smile I've watched the cartoon film of Planet Hulk, BRB takes the SIlver Surfer's place as the champion, which Hulk takes in Thor3, a nice reversal. A champion of Sakaar automatically puts him on a level with Hulk/THor, it'd be pretty good.

The more I think about it the more I am dissatisfied with the time travel aspect.

The way to do it right is the way it is done in Dark (thus far and I halfway through S2). Where the past is fixed and characters can travel back and perform actions that have already happened.

Take Captain America for example. The writers are saying he created an alternative reality but it would have been far more satisfying if he had gone back to Peggy at a time after she finished her TV show and then married her then and had always been around, married to her.

I'm not sure if the writers and directors have different opinions, but I also read that they had three people in mind for who Peggy would marry and Cap was one of them, that's how they seeded it earlier on. If one listens to the dialogue of Peggy on her deathbed in Cap2, it does also make sense if she is already married to Cap. I think.
I'm hoping that Dr Strange 2 explains stuff...or WandaVision.

I think this is by far the weakest Avengers film by far.

It should have ended with the last one, a baddie win is always satisfying!

This film was so cliched, so utterly boring, far, far too long and about as fun as the DC films.

Just a really poor effort in my view.
