Series 2 is now on the telly and all are available to watch.

2 1/2 episodes in and I'm enjoying it very much.

Anyone else watching it?
Didn't know there was a series 1!

Does it have English dubbing? Or are you reliant on reading subtitles?
It’s in English.

Didn’t know series 2 was out, looking forwards to getting into it.

Started to watch S2Ep1 but quickly realised that I needed to reprise who was what and their past history from S1 in order to get the full experience, so going to repeat that on catch up.

I like it rathjer than love it, but I have problems following the characters because every senior officer has a beard and they all look the same. Maybe I'm just too old.

My elder German grandson, looking for all the world like an Unterzeeboot Kommandant.
He actually served in the Luftwaffe, a branch of the Bundeswehr.

What we now consider "hipster" is actually WW2-era Unterseeboot Kapitan! biggrin

Watching it with English subtitles which in my view is the only proper way. You really need to see series 1. I think its terrific and very atmospheric.

Eh? It's in English, French and German depending on who is speaking. The English subtitles are hard-coded. I image you'd need to get in on disc if you wanted English dubbing.

I think we are agreeing with each other. There is no dubbing, and its all the better for that. 😄

I'm surprised they didn't do a what happened last series.
It was very much "in at the deep end".

Took quite a bit of head scratching and I nearly went back and watched the last of series 1 again, but I stuck with it. Not sure I have everything squared away yet though.

I don't think it's a spoiler, but just to be sure, I've hidden it. Could someone answer the query please?

Can someone remind me how Hoffmann ended up in NY and hooked up with Sam? And was it Wrangel who cast him adrift?

From S1, if I recall properly they did a prisoner swap. American for Wrangal.

Wrangal is a bit nuts and ends up doing a mutiny on Hoffmanns command. Ending up with Hoffmann in a raft, picked up by fishermen and lands in US. Then looks up the American as a known contact.

Like others, I had to dig deep to recall all the details of S1. Think I’m just about on top of it without watching S1 again. A recap of S1 at the start of S2 would have been useful. Tried YouTube, but nothing there either.

Couple of episodes into S2 and really enjoying it again.

Though Simone / Inspector awkwardness seemed a bit glossed over when they’re back in the office.

Yes, thanks. I remember now. Sam's dad brokered the deal or something IIRC.
