Sally4Ever - WTF Have I Just Watched?!?!

I've found it a bit underwhelming and generally trying too hard to be outrageous. I don't think Emma is particularly cringeworthy, just a dreadful person who actually has little relevance to the story. She hardly appeared in episode 6 and I felt that was the best one of the lot.
I'll wait for it all before deciding completely what I feel. Camping was like that too. The resolution was quite something compared to the build up. If it hasn't been checked out yet, the best thing she's done recently is Dear Joan and Jericha, a podcast she did with Vicki Pepperdine, the uptight mother in Camping, which is a pair of utterly ghastly agony aunts.
Just watched Episode 7.
It's all gone to st. Don't know why.
It seems as though they decided to squeeze 10 potential episodes worth of story line in one episode. Didn't work. Rather than being funny, just got stupid. Not sure why they've decided to do this. Sorry, really disappointing

I knew this was 'Dark' comedy but Jesus H Christ this is something I never thought I'd see on TV in the UK - No wonder the BBC turned it down they could see it would have set new records for letters of complaint.
Julia Davis is an awesome talent but who knew she could go to such depths of depravity in her search for the humourous
thought the final 5 minutes of episode 1 were almost crossing the line but the final moments of episode 4 don't just cross the boundary they take a giant leap over it.
I'll bet Lena Headey who guest starred in this episode thought she'd set the bar with her incestuous sex scenes with her brother in Game of Thrones only to be taught what a really "out-there" scene is all about by Ms Davis.
Shocking stuff.
Read thios post, thought this sounded fun. Not read the rest of the thread but am up to the LH ep now, and I think it's hilarious. I do really hate the main character. JUst checked and Julia Davie is 52...holy frack, she must suck satan's cockI knew this was 'Dark' comedy but Jesus H Christ this is something I never thought I'd see on TV in the UK - No wonder the BBC turned it down they could see it would have set new records for letters of complaint.

It's funny and excruciating.
Long time fan of Julia Davis' work, and on the whole thought the series was good (always nice to have some fresh comedy), though if im being critical i'd say she was being "Julia-Davis-by-numbers", as Emma is pretty much a copy of characters shes done before (Nighty Night, Camping, even a bit of her Hunderby housekeeper).
The motorhome scene was pretty hard viewing, but to be honest if you found that shocking, its nothing compared to the comedy she was doing with Chris Morris in "Jam" (eg, the sketch "Sex for Houses").
I couldn't help but notice in so many scenes the actress playing Sally was trying her hardest not to piss herself laughing where shes supposed to be upset/angry (eg in the car driving her ex, or with Emma in the therapist). Made me think that they must have done a lot of it in one take with a lot of ad lib'ing...

well, finished it.
Wow.
It certainly lived up to the opening post/title. I found the trailer sex and the bedroom pooathon foul viewing. But funny.
Must have been a collaborative work from how the crdits were styled. SOme good impro in there. I think the lead was meant to be emotionally stunted or something, or maybe she wasn't told where the scene would go as she sometimes looked as she hadn't a clue what was going on, which added to the humour. I did feel the ending was rushed and too much was crammed in from Ned STark onwards. So much to enjoy there though. I actually thought it was her old boss at the end, had to recheck the hair.

EDIT - Has Julia Davis had work done? She looks younger in this than she used to 3 years ago.
She looked so good I had to check her age on wikiLoonyTunes said:
If it doesn't grate on you then I'm not sure you're getting the entire 'cringe' effect.
I think that all the while you're watching you're meant to almosthope pray that she's not in the next scene.
Hated her to bits, especially tying to steal that bloke's house.I think that all the while you're watching you're meant to almost
JUst watched Camping, basically because of this thread/show. LOved it. I recall it being on but for some reason thought ANgus Deayton was in it and had a totally different idea of what it would be like. It was nothing like I expected, it was ace. Very good performances all round.
Looked for a thread, this was top.

Hunderby next?
I watched HUnderby when it was on, I recall being entertained but not enough for it to stick. I'll try it again. It was one series, right?I suppose Julia Davis has a good connection at Sky.

I see the US translation started last week, missed the first two so used my string connection to dload the first two.
Anyone watched it?
Tennent's doing an American accent, and Garner is affecting an accent too...it feels a tad stilted at the start, but it was the pilot.
Which series are they copying? Hunderby? Surely not Sally4Ever Anyone watched it?
