Yes, I suppose the MCU angle is Favreau's saving grace - but I still remember him doing cameos on 'Friends', so how did he get from there to where he is now? Must be an interesting story. smile

Simplistic and cliched, with mediocre writing, and gorgeous visuals is practically the StarWars (TM) tagline though biggrin

It was significantly better than expected - that's not to say classic cinema.

Jon Favreau is a mogul because he has been intimately involved in the astonishing MCU, and it's success. His vision (and one assumes secret planning whiteboards in a vault) have meant they have had 14 years of blockbusters, and avoided the DC and Sony copycat mistakes. While not every project is perfectly suited to MY tastes, I recall the abortions that came before IronMan, and am suitably grateful.

The Mandalorian started off very weak but gradually improved until I properly enjoyed some of it.

Boba Fett was pitiful.

Both shows have amateurish elements - weird pacing, noodly dead ends - that you don't see very often especially when they're this prominent.

How odd. I think the Mandalorian is the best Star Wars series.

Some of the one liners are great too.

And Rogue One is THE Best Star Wars movie. Not Second.. It just, just pips ANH. But it does pip it in my view, mainly for the ending.....It truly shows the desperation of the rebellion.

I find myself agreeing with you. I didnt get to see ANH in the cinema but I recall the first time I watched it and being just in awe. That’s how I felt when I left the cinema after R1 I thought they did an excellent job. Also a soft spot for TFA.

I enjoyed the Mandalorian and Boba Fett, from a non invested in Star Wars perspective. Not brilliant just enjoyable throw away tv.

I assumed that was Order 66, so maybe some of Grogu's past is covered.

Jedi vs mandalorian war was years before, must be a flash back to Grogru.

I agree. R1 is the best. It couldn't have been done and would have made no sense without ANH, but has the essence of the original trilogy for me.

Don't get the love-in for R1. It's an average movie with 5 minutes of Vader awesomeness and a "twist" ending.

Andor has set one hell of a high bar since we last saw Mando/Boba, this looks to have an awful lot more fan service (understandable, I guess) which is not necessarily a good thing. Fingers crossed.
