I caught Chapter 6 last night, it was definitely the weaker of the series so far, but I still enjoyed it.

The nods to the films were quite good I thought and quite subtle, with the exception of the Gungan impression, which I thought was quite funny. Seeing the X-Wings was cool, though the fact that they just immediately open fired on the station I thought was odd, though they did say they could see a Gun-ship launching.

Final thought for me was the older guy calling Mando a bd at the end, Star wars never had "language" in it I don't think, however since Disney took over it's had a bit more, I think there was some in TLJ. I don't know why, but it doesn't sit well with me (and as a ex-sailor I can swear like the best of them). I don't know why it doesn't sit well with me.

However, on the flip side, because this has some slightly more gritty elements to it (though not too many) I hardly noticed it when it initially happened and had to rewind to check.

The X wing bit reminded me of the ending of Das Boot.

Chapter 7 - best episode yet - no spoilers - but it has no tie in with the new film as far as i can , even though interwebby suggested otherwise - it did have a little extra clip of the new film at the end if watching on Disney+

OT - I've only seen Das Boot a couple of times, I definitely need to re-watch it, absolutely fantastic film.

/OT - I thought Giancarlo Esposito was supposed to be in the Mandalorian, but he hasn't cropped yet, the rumour was that he played one of the main antagonists......so far we haven't had a main antagonist really, they've all only lasted a chapter or two.

Agreed.

I don't actually have any problem with some episodes being fillers or weaker. The story has to evolve rather than just being thrust into the meat of it and left wondering who/what/why/where.

Gus Fring turns up in Ep7, which is pretty good, building to a nice conclusion pulling together the threads of the previous episodes.

Do we have the final one on Friday this week?

I really enjoyed that, a nice conclusion plus a good setup for series 2.

Now off to make many gifs of baby Yoda from that episode smile

If there's a point that's farthest from the Suns, that's the distance the last episode knocked it out the park.

Sensational.

The last episode was fantastic - directed by Taika Waititi. Looking forward to season 2.

Enjoyed that. As a whole series it had some pretty baggy moments but regained focus by the end. It seemed a little too relaxed overall but I'd rather see where something like this goes than another overblown trilogy of films. Guess we'll get plenty of both in future.

Loved it.

There was a moment when I thought we were going to get baby yoda in mandalorian armour! and I got very excited.

Good ending, nicely setting it up for a series all about getting Yoda home.

And that ending! If that's truly Canon Could that be the Darksaber from Clone Wars? Only ever used by a Mandalorian Force user?

I've just watched the whole series and it is one of the best tv shows I've watched recently. Really good. Everything was spot on, really enjoyable stuff. I hope they carry on a series over a movie.
