Monster of the week again, but we really enjoyed it.
There really is no need for a series to run a massive series long story, just a thread is enough.

The boy maintained that was fett's armour the whole way through. I was skeptical.

I’ve not looked yet. Are they releasing all the episodes at once or one per week?
Yes, otherwise people would pay for one month and binge it, then cancel. Netflix/Disney etc can't afford to keep releasing multiple big name shows a month so once a week gets the viewer returning.

so the new episode...
I thought actual Boba Fett was supposed to be in this series - not just his armour? Or do I need more patience...hmmm
He was wink
Yeah, just watched it again....didn't recognise him first time through!
But was that really meant to be Boba Fett standing watching them at the end or was it just another Jango Fett clone? There's supposed to have been hundreds of thousands of them and AFAIK a fair few survived the Clone Wars.

My head is spinning at all the possibilities and we are only one episode in!

I hope the assassin droid returns for series two, that was the star of series one!

Now that is how to blow fan theory out of the window without being smug about it.

Mandalorian once again showing the main film franchise how it should be done!
Agreed, by far and away the best thing to come out of the Star Wars / Lucasfilm stable.

Again the series is ridiculously good! So well polished and executed, the score and cinematics is spot on!

Can't wait for the next episode now, always loved Star Wars but felt the original films got a bit tired, with the cast maybe - but this has been a very refreshing use of the franchise and has got some legs for all other possibilities and characters, well done Disney!

Possible, but Boba was the only clone without accelerated aging - the rest would all have died of old age by now, surely? Or does the accelerated ageing only last an initial period to get them to maturity?

To be honest I was just throwing it in there as a possibility, but my suspicion is that it was indeed Fett Jr. watching from the top of the sand dune, and the story of the first episode indirectly also tied up the loose end of how he managed to escape from the sarlacc pit. Presumably the sarlacc that swallowed him was itself eaten by a krayt dragon - probably the one the Tuskens and the Mos Pelgans killed. As we all saw, it is possible to get krayt dragons to puke up mandalorians!

Utterly brilliant!

Great opener to the series, this series should be something else with all the different arcs coming together.
You got the Moff Gideon and the Darksaber storyline, trying to find Baby Yoda's clan/homeworld, is there more of them?
The new angle of the latest episode.
The person they showed in series 1 with the spurs on their boots. Who was it, will they be back?
Appearance of the Jedi?

So much good stuff happening, cant wait to see how it all pans out.

Absolutely brilliant.

as mentioned above Bobba was not subjected to accelerated ageing.

We know this is set post DS2 destruction, obviously it’s the same actor who played Jango, young Bobba is 9/10 during attack of the clones, Mando is set appx 30 years after.

If you remember C3P0 said he’d be devoured over 1000 years ... could support his rather aged look smile

Great series

Loved the obvious nods to the Spaghetti Westerns

The production is on a movie level.

Of course it is cheesy in parts - but it is a TV series.

Well worth the subscription fees.

It seemed a lot bigger than when we saw the far away shot when it looked like just one main building.

I caught this on Saturday and really enjoyed it too.

On the technical side, I couldn't get the Disney+ app for my 4k TV (the only smart TV I have), so had to install it on the PS4, as it's a base PS4 (not pro) I guess that means that I can't watch any of the UHD/HDR content on Disney+ (or rather it would be pointless) is that correct?

Also wondering why I couldn't find Disney+ when searching for the extra apps on my smart TV (it's a panasonic 49" 4k, if that helps).

I've got on my 4k TV so it is possible, I got a subscription just before lockdown 1
It's really that the episode is only 43 minutes long.

Was Disney+ already identified as a source or app on your TV or did you have to go somewhere and download it?

Works on my 4k TV too (Philips Android TV os), although there is a bug with the latest Disney app update that defaults what you play to foreign language and subtitles (I think it's Spanish). Not a big issue, changed it to English and subtitles off).

Have you got a Chromecast to send it over to the TV from the phone app?

No I don't have Chromecast, and while I can run it through the PS4 I'm not overly worried, it streams fine, just not sure I could stream and get the benefit of the UHD/HDR aspect. Just surprised that I couldn't seem to find the app via the TV in-built app store thing.
