Evening All

I have just finished renewing the dash for the day - and pretty chuffed with it.

Quick question - anyone know what size the bulb is for the clock at all? I thought they would be Ba9s as with other gauges but it’s quite s bit smaller

Before and after -

I carbon effect wrapped mine 12 months ago. I like it still.

The clock filament in my Chimaera is a BA7s.

Deleted - yet another duplicate post for some bizarre reason.

Cheers. The lower radio panel was trickier because remounting the little metal pieces on the back required you the have just the right amount of resin. If they're too low, squeezing the button panel in pops it off again. Too high and the button panel will be loose. I still wince when I have to turn the lights on in case the buttons disappear into the dash!

Clock bulb ordered!!

Yes I covered the radio panel and again looks good, I have just ordered the silver leven buttons. I have been wondering how the mounting plate fits to the panel - is it really just glued on?! Blimey!! The mounting plate looks like it has lugs on - so i just thought something was missing as this wasn't a complete unit when I got it...

Have you kept the original LED's in radio panel?

I left the original filaments in the radio panel warning. lamps because I couldn't work out how to get them apart within potentially damaging them! The silver button covers were already fitted to my car. I did fit LEDs to the instruments though. You can see the difference here.

That looks awesome!! good going!

It will be interesting to see what my dials look like like when illuminated as they are black- and I have gone with blue bulbs - but I do like that green!

It is advisable to fit a larger wattage lamp in the speedo to counter the blocking of the internal mechanism. I fitted double standard wattage and that achieves nearly similar illumination to the rest of the instruments

You might be ok with having black faces but I put blue LED's in with magnolia dials and it looks awful, really harsh on the eyes when driving in the dark.

Regarding bulb sizes a couple of my gauges had w5w bulbs fitted. I fitted new bulb holders for these so I could use BA9S bulbs in them all.

Fitting higher wattage bulbs may damage the gauges due to the heat generated by them

The coloured lamps are led's so they generate practically no heat
