2005 997 2S - Airbag Light On
Discussion
Hi all...I'd be grateful for some technical help. I fitted a new head unit in the car a few weeks ago, and after I'd finished fitting it, everything was fine. Then, a few days ago, I was driving down an unmade lane and I hit a pot hole..and the airbag light came on.
Tried reseting it with my ODB2 code reader, but as expected it just came back again immediately. The fault code read 'Airbag Trigger Unit Fault'.
So this could just be a coincidence, but I'm suspicious that I may have knocked something when I was changing the head unit, because I've read that the trigger unit may be behind the dash, near the radio??
Any help you guys could give would be awesome.
Thanks

Been doing a bit of research ... and also plugged the fault code reader in again to get the full codes and descriptions.
It's showing the following:
80ba - Triggering Unit Faulty
c141 - Communication PCM (Display)
c152 - Communication PSM Control Unit (Drive)
The PCM one may be because I removed the PCM unit and replaced it with an aftermarket unit. No idea why PSM is affected.
I also had to remove a dension module under the drivers seat and reconnect the factory phone module before installing the new head unit. A few of the forums I've read indicate that there's an airbag module and wiring loom under the drivers seat, which I may have disturbed. So I think I'm going to unbolt the seat again and check all the connections under there.
