I could watch The Day of the Jackal over and over, just for the DS (and other) content, Ronin too (for youngtimers) - What are the other films would you recommend for the Classic content?

There are thousands of them, far too many to think about, list and post. Fortunately someone has already done it: https://www.google.co.uk/search?client=opera&q...

I was born in 1990 so this might not resonate with most people, but I could watch the Matrix over and over again and it would never get boring for me. One of my favourite "older" classics would be The Departed.

I've started watching stuff made in the 70s on "Talking Pictures" and sometimes the Horror Channel, just for the stuff in the background. Watched "The Legacy" from 1978 the other day, that's got virtually nothing in it, save for a couple of London street scenes quite early on. And a Rolls-Royce that almost loses its back axle but magically sorts itself out a second or two later.

You may have seen "House of Whipcord" on this channel.?
Very near the start a girlis drive in an Aston Martin DBS (1970 type not the newer one) on a drive from a city to the country. Its quite good footage of this great car and IMHO apart from another bright colour version it shows the car in its glory

I mentioned The Man Who Haunted Himself
That includes considerable footage of the classic Rover P5 and a Lamborghini Islero

The OP mentions movies but TV is also a great source
The Sweeney
The Professionals etc but also the older original Avengers and the New Avengers - again an Aston makes an appearance and the footage is excellent

I haven't, but I'll keep an eye out for it. I did watch "The man who haunted himself" recently, but for me it turned out to be not quite as good as I remember it. I've also recently watched various series for the first time - The Persuaders, The Protectors, New Avengers - all for the car content. All haven't really stood the test of time IMO.

Another film that "sort of" comes in that category, but also has a lot of cars, is "King of the Mountain", which I remember was one of the first things I recorded from the TV when our family got its first video recorder. Set in LA in the street racing scene on Mulholland Drive, Dennis Hopper plays a mad bloke (for a change) and Harry Hamlin is the young upstart racer with a modified 356. This is a really dark version of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDgl4DTUbdk&t=...

Thanks. I saw this thread yesterday and didn't really understand what the OP was referring to.

Bullit is one of mine, I know the sound is not the Mustang, but the car looks cool and the chase is great.

Thread title needs amending or move to classics forum.
