It's like the sort of thing a serial killer would send to their victim prior to murdering them and wearing them as a skin suit.

Oh it’s really gone now, what a shame!

The hated for PHers on Mumsnet is very real though.

Last year I was attending a business growth workshop for startups, which was actually really helpful.

It was a three day event, Wednesday through Friday, all based at our local business hub in the Central Library.

On the first day we had to introduce ourselves and give a background to our business.

Now this was a room of about 15 people, I was literally the only man there, and it seemed the only one doing any business,,ie I was already selling services and getting paid.

The rest of the people, all ladies seemed to range from wanting to start a cafe, to nail saloons and pet foods.

But all of them were in the inception or creation phase.

During the course of the first morning we were asked to present our plans and route to market, based on our market research etc.

Amazingly two ladies had used mumsnet almost exclusively as their design idea and sounding board for their business ideas, and were of course very active contributors to mumsnet threads.

At that first day over lunch we all chatted and talked about all manner of things, so of course the subject of mumsnet was discussed and one of the two ladies was very vocal, about how much mumsnet was a place for, good and positive empowerment etc for working mums etc etc.

She then also went on to talk about how she was actively involved in a campaign against another rival Members forum, which to my supriese was actually Pistonheads.

Long story short we got chatting about it,,and it was obvious she immediately disliked me because of my association with pistonheads.

All though the rest of the day she glared at me and made comments about me, and refered to,me as “ that man “.

In the end, I decided to,ask her what her issues was with me, and of course Pistonheads.

She started going on about how much she knew that we all hated everyone and everything on mumsnet, and that basically in here eyes we were all the devils in carnet!

There’s more to,this story, but I will save that, as I’m running out of charge here on my iPad, so Will continue later!!

Ok, I'll re-phrase - perhaps an alternate preposition may help.

Cut to the chase, were you hanging out with her later on - or not?

'Making progress'

PH = Driving in excess of the posted speed limit but well within my own capabilities as an ex-F1 test driver, but didn't make it because Schumacher felt threatened by my pace and had me blacklisted in 1995

Mumsnet = Driving like an absolute maniac with Oakleys and a bluetooth headset clearly visible, complete disregard for all other road users, last seen turning into an enterprise park in Milton Keynes

Mumsnet is well know for ignorance, arrogance and self serving circle jerking... But that's not a patch on NP&E

Maybe we should offer a Mumsnet v PH game of rounders (thats as neutral a sport as I could think of) for the summer, a number of the Match.com thread would be all over that I suspect as its another pool pf potential ....

Ain't this the truth!

There's a women's only networking group here and I figured we were missing a trick because I couldn't go. Mrs PB resisted until, eventually, one of my clients was talking at it and she convinced Mrs PB to go along for moral support.

It was pointless and the group is now known by us as 'ladies who knit'!

'Devils in Car Net' would be a good alternative name for PistonHeads. biggrin

The PHers/Mumsnet rounders match should be a laugh with the Match.com crew, but if the 'Being told " I don't love you anymore"' crew show up, it could turn into Rollerball...

One of the issues guaranteed to get Mumsnet frothing at the mouth is a husband and the time he spends on his hobbies.

Oh and they have the equivalent of the Match.com thread.

The irony is that most PHers probably don't give Mumsnet a second thought 99.9% of the time.

Nice to see that she treated you politely like a human being, didn't define you as a person based on a website you visit and without petty prejudice. Oh...wait...

Reverse the genders - can you imagine the uproar if you'd given her the cold shoulder, glared at her all afternoon and described her as 'that woman'?

Mumsnet has (I think still) a great relationships forum.

There’s been fantastic threads on there where you get my wife women asking strangers about their husband playing with himself or wanting to try swinging.

Posters on there then getting angry saying women should divorce their husbands for wking etc

Possibly no odder than some of the threads on here about Hitler or brexit or whatever but still an eye opener that these puritanical harpies exist.
