I’m thinking Jack is the weapon, or at least has been infected with it
Definitely some kind of link between him and the changelings I think. It's a good story well told, so far - I hope it keeps up.

This is an excellent series. Thoroughly enjoyable. I can't understand why the first two were so utterly terrible when they were capable of this.

This is prob one of the best eps so far in this season, IMHO of course. Nice little unexpected cameo as well.

Must also say I think Michael Dorn is nailing it, not easy to resurrect a character after 20 years, much less to give it an appropriate evolution.

Really? I thought Frakes was the stand out so far this season.

Despite this being the best season by far it's still a pretty low bar

Loving this. The tone is bang on, as is the selection of old characters and themes. And the story is great so far to boot.

Jack definitely isn’t human. The options seem to be (a) renegade changeling, (b) part Borg (on the basis he was conceived post-Locutus, and so JLP had some Borg nanites in him; (c) something else completely (Beverly has form for weird offspring: Wesley became a Traveler). I’m going with (b) for now.

I think the weapon is either Lore, or Data 2.0 from the end of ST:Nemesis. Or maybe Data 2.0 corrupted by Lore

Wasn't Moriarty in the trailer? Maybe he is the weapon or calling the shots?

There’s been a few mentions of an advanced AI at the institute.

I think that might link to the above.

Anyone who's seen mention of who's cast and in what roles will have a fairly solid idea about the above. Fairly spoilery knowing those details but it doesn't give much clue about the actual plot.

He was in the trailer yes - so probably not a spoiler. So were La Forge and Brent Spiner playing an android. Wondering who else wasn't in the trailer that might yet be revealed...

I'm at episode 3: Seventeen Seconds.

I assume Robert Smith from The Cure is going to be a guest star, probably an arena fighter like The Rock was in Voyager.

This series is fantastic, that was such a great episode.

Having been name dropped, if the Admiral <cough> makes an appearance in this series I'm going to have a Luke/Mandalorian moment biggrin

They've been mentioned so much it'd almost be a disappointment if they didn't now. They're already in Star Trek prodigy so it's not really a stretch.

I'm still holding out hope for a Sisko appearance, I think he's said quite publically he wouldn't return but given this season links to the Dominion war I'd love for him to make a reappearance, whether that's in Prophet form or otherwise.

I did see some theories online that Jack may be a Par Wraith (same glowing red eyes as Ducat) but I think that would be a stretch, however it would throw the door open for a little Sisko appearance

Really enjoying this series.

Like someone mentioned above, does make you question how come the other two series of Pciard were so awful. Or does it show you that ST / Picard needs to stay STNG in format / storylines / characters ?

Yep very good episode and the story is actually intriguing. I have no idea what Jack is right now but it's got me hooked. This is exactly what I imagined an updated Trek show should be like, even if it's taken 3 seasons to get there, no idea what happened with Seasons 1 and 2.
