Watched First Contact last night, had totally forgotten about Buff Picard with his vest scene near the end, getting his flex on rofl

There's also an episode in TNG, Starship Mine, which plays a little like Die Hard in space, with Picard doing his Bruce Willis impression.

My solution to that is I've just started watching The Next Generation from Series 1, Episode 1. Have to say, they acting wasn't great back in 1987, was it.
I'm up to ep 10, have to admit I'm finding it hard going. Don't remember it being this, well, average.

I think it was pretty average up until season two.
Season three saw the return of Dr Crusher and a vast improvement in stories as they'd really worked out where they going.

Similar to DS9 - and Stargate SG-1

a bit of fun here - sizes of various space-ships in sci-fi (including Enterprise - though, sadly, no Bird of Prey eek )

I liked Dr whatshername in season 2 tbf, also it was a nice throwback as the actress had been in one of the early original series episodes.

I liked Pulaski more than Crusher tbh. Apparently the cast did not and she never felt particularly welcome.

That's the one, obviously Bev and Picard's story arc is very important to the whole TNG/Picard backstory but I thought Pulaski was an interesting character. She had a couple of cracking episodes.

She was much better than Crusher. Was always quite angry. More like McCoy
