Patrick Stewart is playing a character 10 years older than him, but none of the other actors are (otherwise Riker would be in his 80s). It's all a bit odd.
Jonathan Frakes is 70, he could well be playing a Riker who's 80, they live longer in the future. He also has a young daughter (with Troi) that they would have had in their mid-60s. Future-stuff.https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/William_T._Ri...
You can lose yourself in Memory Alpha, be careful!

Both episodes appear to be terrible image quality on my OLED LGC1. I get some weird background blurry effects, especially in dark scenes. Anyone else? It’s not my TV or the internet connection. As other stuff plays fine.
Nope looked great on my Samsung. I think Ep 3 was oversaturated on Paramount+ for a few hours when it dropped but they corrected it (might have just been the US). TriumphStag3.0V8 said:
Excellent episode. I am warming up to Shaw.
All the Easter eggs in this episode were much appreciated, as was Shaw's monologue in the previous episode about Picard and Riker's not so heroic activities in the past
Anyway - at the museum, when they saw the Defiant, I immediately thought "cloaking device gets fitted to the Titan", I didn't expect them to take the one from Kirk's commandeered bird of prey. I would have thought the Defiant's cloak would have been a better bet as more modern. Mind you, I half expected them to take the Defiant (especially with Worf there). I guess the Defiant's cloak had to be given back at the end of the Dominion war?.
The cloaking device on the Defiant was destroyed along with the original Defiant about 5/6 episodes from the end of DS9. The Defiant here is its replacement. It’s unknown if it had a cloak. Ever noticed how dark so many streaming shows are?
If you have a HDR telly, its probably caused by that. I believe the Amazon Prime stream is 1080p HDR. There are a bunch of shows that stream in HDR but are not 4k.These new generation tellies (2023 onwards) are supposed to give us more brightness to fix that problem.
It's why, mostly, I prefer to play a 1080p bluray disc rather than the 4k. Unless, its a blokes night in and I can watch the film in near darkness and all the family are in bed then 4k bluray can really blow your socks off.

Wonderful episode. Clearly written by people who understand and respect the source material. I can hear Kirk shouting “Are you not entertained!”
I certainly was entertained.
Yes, Episode 6 is the best of Star Trek in around 25 years. I certainly was entertained.
This season has been absolutely phenomenal.
We are definitely seeing the TNG Enterprise D either in ep9 or ep10. You may remember it crashed in Generations. However a blink and you miss it confirmation in S2 has made it cannon that the Enterprise was recovered and put on display in the Starfleet museum. Stands to reason that’s what’s in the hanger bay
