Jayemm channels the ghosts of TG past, Number 27 and Samcrac for a mix of unusual/classic cars and oily bits on a budget.
Couldn't agree more on all of those. Personally, Jayemm isn't my bag, but his special on the McLaren MP4/4 is at least as good as any of the tribute pieces Top Gear ever put together: Wonderful stuff and again, no licence fee required. Anyway, back to moaning about Top Gear

Glad to be of service! I know people bemoan the demise of motoring programs on TV, but online we’ve never been so lucky with what’s available and the quality (both of the people, and the production) has skyrocketed over the last couple of years. It’s moved on a lot from the shouty influencers (but they’re still there).
A personal favourite is Fortnine, a Canadian guy who does these incredibly creative cinematic shorts about motorbikes and motorbike related stuff, always with an underlying scientific bent.
It’s better than anything I ever seen from a mainstream broadcaster - compelling viewing for my personal tastes.

Honestly guys, stop watching Top Gear if it's not really your thing these days. Stop torturing yourself with it! It's over for you. Mainstream motoring programs are, by and large, not for us anymore.
Turn to Youtube. It's absolutely stuffed to the gills with every possible permutation of men f*cking about with cars you can imagine. Whatever your personal predilection, there'll be some guy on Youtube doing it in 4k for free. And yes, I know, there's a lot of absolutely dross you have to wade through to find your thing, but once you find it - it's great!
You like glorious car reviews? Watch Harry's Garage, TheLateBrakeShow, Carfection or Hagerty, or Evo, or Pistonheads
You liked old wheeler dealers but don't like Mike's bits and hate all the fakery? Watch M539Restorations
You like funny adventures? Watch 44Teeth Budget Bike Battles
You like tw@tting around? Watch AutoAlex or CarThrottle
You like two wheels? Watch Fortnine
You like learning secrets of Supercars? Watch DK Engineering TV
You like stars in a reasonably-priced car? I can't help you - you're a psychopath
Seriously - all the stuff you loved about good-old-Topgear is out there. It's just been broken up into its component parts and spread all over Youtube, and is being done by young guys with huge energy and passion. Or just watch the old sh@t on Dave

To the list above, I would add.
You love old cheaper sheds or quirky stuff - Hubnut
You love drag races of old and new cars - Carwow, Saturday 9.30AM.
You love an eclectic mix of 70s onwards popular classics - Number 27 or JayEmm.
You love a cranky American ranting about unreliable German stuff is and how Korean cars are crap - Scotty Kilmer!!!

This post is bang on. You'd think 21 years after new Top Gear started with blokes ttting around in cars, people would have got the Top Gear format by now..

Tyrell's Classic Workshop
Kidston Productions (the cinematography on here is phenomenal)
As we are listing alternatives on YT, I'll add:
Matt's Off Road Recovery (American Can do attitude, stunning semi desert scenery)
Vice Grip Garage- More American wierdness, but cool with it. Especially the 'can I get this 20 year abandoned wreck running at practically no cost in a couple of days and then drive it home 300 miles' type videos.

Totally agree re YouTube, there is so much good content on there for proper car geeks. A few others to add:
- I Do Cars - US guy running his own business selling car parts, does tear down videos for blown engines. They are quite technical but I like the detail and to see what’s happened to some of them. He’s done tear downs for engines in both my 340i and my F-Type which has been super useful to show how they go together to aid driveway maintenance
- Mat Armstrong - UK guy that rebuilds crashed performance cars. He’s a bit of an acquired taste but he does some pretty impressive stuff for a guy that isn’t trained in mechanics or bodywork, and gets good results. Currently rebuilding a crashed M5 Comp and a Murcielago
- Saving Salvage - another UK guy rebuilding crashed / broken performance cars. Not as polished as Mat Armstrong and not as big budget but probably an easier watch as he’s more down to earth and less Gen-Z in his style. Currently doing a new engine into an R8.
- Master Milo - bit left-field, some guys in Netherlands do crazy things with cars, tanks, engines etc. I watch it for their tank rebuild stuff. Very rough and ready but they can build some amazing stuff.
- Legit Street Cars - US guy, former Mercedes tech, that rebuilds and upgrades performance cars. Usefully he doesn’t focus a lot on US cars, he does a lot of BMW and Mercedes stuff. His series on his CL65 AMG was impressive, total rebuild of the engine and ABC suspension etc. Very knowledgeable and capable guy. Mixture of rebuilding stuff and adventures stuff (“We bought this car sight unseen and now we’re off to get it and drive it 1,000 miles back to the shop”). Probably my favourite of the lot as his videos are just the right level of detail, and him and his buddy are very watchable, entertaining without being annoying. He also gets a lot done in his videos, not like some channels where not much happens. For example he’ll do an entire bottom-end refresh in one video, from start to finish, and end the video with it starting up and being driven. Gets a lot done.
- HeavyD Sparks - more US, quite an acquired taste. Guys in the US that own a ton of big stuff, off-road recovery stuff, helicopters (they just bought a Blackhawk (!) and had it rebuilt) etc etc.
I haven’t watched car stuff on TV for years now as it’s so lowest-common-denominator stuff these days. I totally get that, it’s for the mainstream - so I stick with the geeky YouTube stuff now.

What the fk does any of this have to do with top gear.
I keep see this thread being updated and think I might see an update on flintoff, but alas just lists of stuff on YouTube
I think we were just trying to provide some helpful, friendly alternatives for the 95% of people who come to this thread purely to express how much they hate the car show they’ve just invested yet another hour watching I keep see this thread being updated and think I might see an update on flintoff, but alas just lists of stuff on YouTube
