YES!!!!!!Chris and Matt searching for Bigfoot was the bromance we never knew we needed….
Thee have been some brilliant episodes since ChM left. Ethiopia in their “first cars”, the HGV episode, the Eddie Kidd tribute, the mid life crisis with the TVR/MR2/Monaro at Combe, the James Bond tribute, the LeBaron, India in that Renault 4, the Jaguar hearse…..
Problem is people will hate it simply because it’s not ChM, forgetting that there were some truly terrible episodes in that era, just because they need another thing in life to be angry about….

Somewhat unrelated to the current Flintoff focus but…
It’s amazing how things change with time. I happened to re-watch that series that was mainly Chris Harris and Matt LeBlanc doing things together while Rory Reid did his own bits.
It was actually pretty good! Yes SIARPC was still st. And yes, both Matt and Chris’s banter in front of the studio audience was excruciating. And yes, the wonderful Sabine (RIP) made me want to claw my ears off.
But! Both Matt and Chris seemed like genuinely good friends, had moments of unscripted and unforced ‘banter’, both can really drive and lots of the films of them apart and together were really good. Again, in hindsight, Rory is excellent - an actual car journalist! He really did get a raw deal being binned for the new lot.
I suspect that we may not see TG reappear in its current guise any time soon - Chris is open that he’ll milk it for as long as he can but has lots of money-making opportunities with his growing CC empire. Clearly Freddie is having second thoughts and will always have other work, and Paddy always comes across as a presenter/entertainer rather than a passionate car guy and he’ll be off doing other things.
Should it be re-born or just quietly die? Don’t really mind either way.

I don’t get the radio silence from Freddie.
It’s almost as bad as when Schumacher was hurt, the lack of knowing and levels of secrecy.
I’m going to guess at facial injuries given the type of vehicle he crashed. He’s too big a guy to roll one of those and not get serious head trauma of some kind.
Does anyone know what happened or what he was driving? It’s almost as bad as when Schumacher was hurt, the lack of knowing and levels of secrecy.

It needed to be raised, he was short on personality.
Again, with the benefit of some hindsight I think that's a little unfair. The stuff he did before and since TG shows the guy is chock-full of personality (but you have to be on Youtube to see any of it). I think he probably felt he needed to 'tone it down' for the big job on the BBC and maybe went a little too far but he's a good egg. Pflanzgarten said:

Even the driving talents of Tiff nearly rolled one (while deliberately dicking-about in it) so it shows it perhaps wasn't ideal for someone with Freddie's more limited talents and laissez-faire attitude to risk.

Very nasty accident by the sounds of it though, doesn't bear thinking about! I know the car has rollover hoops, but can't see how useful they'll be if the driver is so tall his head is above them.
Hard to see that the roll hoops would be useful, even just on tarmac:
If you ended up in soft grass off the track, I'd imagine they'd dig in significantly.
It is said the Super 3 has better handling than the older 3-wheeler, which almost tripped Tiff up:
but it is nonetheless very easy to get the centre of gravity outside of the triangular footprint of the vehicle.
In the 1930s, with old spoked wheels and poor tyres, the typical failure mode for a Morgan 3-wheeler was a deflation of a tyre, followed by a slide, contact with a kerb, and then (despite their being low enough to place your knuckles on the ground) a hasty overturning. The physics haven't changed, but the drivers now sit much higher, whilst I imagine the new Super 3 monocoque puts a touch more weight further away from the vehicle centreline...

I haven’t driven one but I have sat in the prototype-it’s an incredibly “sat on” driving position-the reason being the space for the eventual EV battery pack is under the seats so you're really perched on top.
It was in fact the reason for me eventually not ordering. When you see photos you imagine a caterham-esque tucked in driving position but you’re really exposed despite the roll hoops, and that’s all 5’9” of me-someone bigger would naturally be more exposed. It really doesn’t feel natural compared to the type of car it is.
If you cowp one of those you’re in the lap of the gods, as my mate proved. Rolled off a cliff and crushed his spinal column.

If that “source” is correct it certainly sounds much more serious than I ever imagined.
Poor bloke, I hope he can make a full recovery as he’s something of a sporting legend and has never shied away from big challenges.
Makes you wonder whether he’s had a serious knock to the head and been advised that the next one could be a lot worse for him.

I agree, Rory is excellent and got a raw deal I really like him on the AT channel very watchable and knows what he's talking about. No matter what they did though they were never going to match CHM just watch a few of the old challenges/races and specials they are great.

I've definitely got too much self preservation to drive one of those I reckon, and they look too scary for my liking. I'd imagine them to be a load of fun though. If you ended up in soft grass off the track, I'd imagine they'd dig in significantly.

I don't understand this. I understand that Freddie was on the 'edge' and pushed hard - sometimes too hard, and now does not feel that he can.
Employees leave for all sorts of reasons. That happens all over the world.
So you replace them and move on. Support him as they 'broke' him by all means.
But don't throw lots of license payers' money out the window by canceling a series.
