BBC Top Gear Thread 2021/2022

I'm really struggling with those ascribing terms such as "great" to this series.
It's been better than I feared, but nothing more.
Yes, I have watched it, despite the fact "[I don't have to][no-one is forcing me to]".
It's...alright. Nothing more.
The last series, one at least had the impression that messrs LeBlanc, Harris and Reid were trying to run with the torch from the 'CHM Era'. This series, they seem content to merely carry it in a pretty lazy manner. The Lotus 79 piece was the only real flicker of passion in the whole series, in my opinion.
'Old new top gear' was struggling to match its pomp by the end, but can anyone see the current lineup producing anything to match moments like Exige vs Apache, the 3 supercars to Millau, the E-Type 50th anniversary piece, the British manufacturing piece, or the Aston V12 Vantage piece? I honestly can't, and that saddens and worries me.

Supra looks the part but dog slow for £50k. Tuners will be itching to get the first tune up kits out.
If you look at the extended lap time board there is a lot of other fast cars that are slower. They kept quoting the Supra as just over 300bhp. It's 340hp.
Good show mostly tonight. Good series overall.

A red setter?
Lol, but true, that's Billy, unfortunately RIP jobbie, best dog I've ever had. Still got another red setter with an English setter arriving in 2 weeks. If I had to choose between the dog or the Lotus, dog would win every time. Just material stuff.
we had one to , they all seem total divas but once you've had one nothing else really compares

Really good episode, and a good series.
I much prefer when they do motorsport or car culture pieces over the random adventures. Seems to get the presenters involved a bit more on what they are doing and the laughs seem to come a bit more naturally.
I'm the complete opposite, last 20 mins was the first time I turned off this whole series.I much prefer when they do motorsport or car culture pieces over the random adventures. Seems to get the presenters involved a bit more on what they are doing and the laughs seem to come a bit more naturally.
Bored the crap out of me, rest of everything- 9/10.
As a prior fan of Icelandic mentalists driving up cliffs, former Supra owner and having had the Corgi JPS Lotus pulling a Lotus F1 car on a trailer as my favourite toy back in the day that was very close to peak Top Gear for me.
Will Young was a weak addition considering his obvious petrolhead credentials and for me that took the edge off an otherwise great episode of Top Gear in general, not just of this series.

Surely could lop 30 seconds off Will Young and show the lap highlights?
Other than that I enjoyed the rest a lot,
New Supra looked great on outside and my usual reason for never buying Jap cars (cheap plasticky interiors) is solved by nicking a BMW one
Our family dog was a red setter too - RIP Django you lovely, happy, daft dog
