A lot better this week. Less boorish Fred and impressed with Paddy getting within 10 secs of the Germans.
Am I the only one that looked at that and thought.....Jimmy Hill.
No, me as well.
Didn't believe that bit at all but it's not the first nor the last time TG has 'fabricated' stuff like this as we all know, just to make it a bit more viewer friendly.

Good episode though, enjoyed it.
We have no idea whether or not ten seconds was a reasonable margin. It obviously wasn't, because Paddy achieved it. We don't know how far under 10 he was either. I wonder if they did the runs, and then decided ten seconds seemed reasonable, because it was just a bit longer than Paddy had needed.

Heard it was going to be a grand tour so go excited. Reminded me of the grand tours clarkson may and hammond did in romania and the one where they have super lightweight supercars.

Turns out this episode was a farce. Saw the bentley and mclaren and thought hmm interesting but then thats about it.

I know its an entertainment show but if your using grand tourers then do a bloody grand tour. Why cock about on a race track with GT cars??

Waste of having an ex F1 driver available, I thought - but a generally enjoyable episode, not least because of the locations used.
Did they say that he'd achieved "Three, yes THREE" F1 wins? Is that a lot? Sounds pretty mediocre to me.

I've got some magic beans I'm selling. Would you be interested at all?

Shush, I’m trying to intently watch it all the way to the end so I can moan how much I don’t enjoy it.
Oh just fuxk off why don’t you?
That particular stance got really boring, a really long time ago and is now more tedious that the very type of comment you’re ridiculing.
Bit rude.
Yes, I must watch that. Tends to happen when tedious bores flog a proverbial dead horse.
Apology accepted.

Ok its not going to worry Lewis Hamilton's record but 3 GP wins in any era shows you are a very, very good driver. Doing it in his era with his contemporaries makes him a seriously good driver.

Where they were waiting at the bottom of the hill for Paddy? If so, yes - it jarred with me too.

It comes back to the point I've made previous (so I won't bang on), that the guys have a long way to go before their on-screen chemistry is believable for me.
Social distancing probably played a part if there was any awkwardness

It's three more than I've got, and its better than Leclerc, for example. Three wins shows he wasn't some kind of make-up-the-numbers buy-in driver but actually had the skill levels to tussle at the sharp end.
Terrible haircut though

How many have you won?

Apparently 765 people have ever taken the start of a world championship F1 race, and only 109 of them have ever won one of them. Three wins puts him in 57th overall in the table of winners, alongside Mike Hawthorn and Phil Hill (both world champions).

I don't have time. Too busy fending off fatuous comments on PH wink

I don't know, nor do I care about F1. Three wins doesn't sound like a lot to me, given Hamilton's just done 90-something,according to the news this morning.

So I asked if it was a lot, and I was told it was noteworthy.

Or the same as Johnny Herbert, whom, I think most people agree, was a pretty good F1 driver.

I suppose so.

Sounds pretty handy - having existed at the pinnacle of motorsport for 10 years - to me, mind smile

I think they're doing ok, but still a way to go before it can be compared to CHM. Personally I hope the BBC (and the current trio) stick at it for the long term.

The BBC definitely need to stick with something, because chopping and changing presenters around is a surefire way to avoid them building cohesion and chemistry.

It doesn't matter what they do, I will never like PM, he comes across as an idiot with very little knowledge of or enthusiasm for cars,

Only 55-odd drivers have ever won more than 3 F1 GPs out of about 775 that have driven in the championship. I think that merits more than 'pretty mediocre' status.

Well if we're talking about the same scenes, it struck me that CH and FF were more just two people having a normal conversation without all the scripted or otherwise forced banter.

We all see various things in different ways. Simply divergent opinions

That comment I can live with but they also said he used to beat Michael Schumacher.
