Watched most of the 1st episode on iPlayer at lunchtime.

The McL, Alfa, Aston feature was ok. The Silverstone part was a bit pointless and a little cringey at times.

The Eddie Kidd tribute was really good (but as said above PM just needs to tone things down a bit. I grew up in the late 70s / 80s and spend all my time on motorbikes and BMXs and Eddie Kidd was a real hero. My dad took me to see him in Sophias Gardens in Cardiff which was brilliant.

So sad to see him like he is now and so easily preventable. Who on earth though that landing on an upslope was a good idea?

All this Vauxhall love in notwithstanding, it should be remembered that they gave us the Zafira.
yes

Belmont, Frontera, they just aimed low for years.
Ah yes, the Zafira. That practical cheap family car for the masses, that gave families with more that 2 children exactly what they needed, I wonder why it never sold biggrin

Belmont - An astra with a boot, the Astra it was based on was also for some unfathomable reason a best seller. Did Ford make a similar mistake with the Orion?

Frontera, well that was an Isuzu product built in the UK and rebadged as Vauxhall,Holden and Opel .
Bit OT, but I was behind a Zafira today with a 'Condoms Prevent Zafira' sticker on the back of it. Made me chuckle.

The fact is McGuiness, Harris & Flintoff are "Virgin Cola", whilst Clarkson, Hammond & May were "The Real Thing"....! wink
Sorry, watching CHM back on Top Gear and the Grand Tour, whilst they made some wonderful TV, by the end they were caricatures of themselves, as if the original members of a band had formed a tribute act to themselves and just kept playing slightly different versions of their greatest hits ad nauseum.

Yeah... they were very good up until ~2010 ish.

I sincerely hope ep 2 is the nadir of this series.

Splattering that milk over the inside of that Merc will have wrecked certain bits of trim. You *never* get rid of the stink of milk unless they deep cleaned it pretty much immediately, and even then on a hot day there can be a faint whiff. Unimpressed.

Great analogy and exactly my thoughts. They did still do the odd great episode, but also lots of dross towards the end.

I did wince slightly at that bit.

Someone previously made a comparison to CHM trashing cars, but it was very rare that they'd deliberately ruin a new car. There are a few exceptions, but it's clear the manufacturer was more than likely involved, eg. Renault Twingo, car football with the Aygos, Foxes and Kias, etc. Can't see them asking Merc for a new EQC with the caveat 'we'll need to spray milk all over the interior'.

Assuming it was milk, not something that looked like milk....of course.

I've just watched it on the iPlayer and really enjoyed the episode - the mouthful of milk mainly went over PMcG with a small amount on the leather lid of the centre cubby box. I don't think the car will be a write-off.

I think some posters need to lighten up - there's better things to worry about.

I enjoy current Top Gear a lot more than I enjoy Grand Tour. I think a lot of people have a romantic idea in their head that old Top Gear was pure gold, but towards the end it wasn't anything special and Grand Tour is way over scripted and lacking in any real ideas. I think they're simply too old for it now and aren't that entertaining by themselves, which is a shame having grown up watching them. The less said about their YouTube stuff the better. I think the current TG lineup works well

Watched last night, milk thing annoyed me, they were rough with the trailers, the camera director for the Huracan segment made me a bit queasy, and I just want to punch Paddy more due to his volume levels.

Flintoff continues to come across as a good bloke though who is up for a laugh and has no fear of anything.

I watch the programme for Harris really as a big fan of his from his old YouTube channel but he seems more and more to be being sucked into a 'over exuberant telly presenter' mould.

Much as I hate caravans and EV's in general I thought the general content idea of the episode was quite entertaining - just tainted by that tt PM. Get rid of him and Harris might calm down and much as I never thought it was a suitable role for Flintoff I've warmed to him and his have a go attitude.

I would think the damage to the seats from the harnesses would be worse than the milk.

NO! stop with your sensible advice.

There are seemingly many reasons to be crying over split milk.

This being one of them, surely?

Or not and some folks may just need to realise that life has many, often bigger, challenges.

And therefore nothing troubling may be mentioned unless dukeboy749r has decided it meets the criteria.

TV advertising isn't cheap and top gear is sold around the world. A £70k car needing a deep valet isn't going to outweigh the benefits to Mercedes of having their car on there.

My issue is that when, rarely, CHM did an unscripted bit, it was usually amusing. When this lot (whose initials I can't be arsed to work out) do it, it's always childish.
