I'm glad they won.
It got a bit dusty at the finish.
Yeah. Here too!It got a bit dusty at the finish.
Enjoyed the series overall despite the saminess of some of the episodes. Looking forward to the reunion show and seeing a bit more.
Less sure about the celebrity one advertised but will depend on who they have ...
Sending a team out with a massive lead in the evening when the only thing they can do is pay for somewhere to stay the night is pretty harsh, doesn't feel right to me in the context of it being a race.
Just finished series 1 and absolutely adored it, there were a couple of similar-ish circumstances (i.e the lead team left at 7am which wasn't enough time to make the border in a day, but the team that could leave at 5am the following day could do it in a day) but nothing quite so blatant that I recall.
This series has certainly felt more 'artificial', that may be partly down to some excellent checkpoint design to keep the race as close as possible, but it's certainly felt like significantly more has been out of the contestants hands this time.

I think the choice of one country was not the issue, the issue was of the location of check points, the fact that the contestants got free lifts with people going out of their way and contestants just appearing at points after break downs for example and as said sending out the couple when they had no options.
Surprised by the eventual winners, didn’t see that coming. I suspect Tricai, may be a bit of a petrolhead, she mentioned at one point her failing eye sight meant she could no longer drive, and then added, ride motorbikes.
Episode 7, Monique pointed out that the others had more luck with car shares, because they weren’t people of colour, it seemed the opposite to me, the other father and daughter team seemed to have the worst luck in that area.
The 3 finalists, all came across very well, especially Zainib and Mobeen, who seemed a really nice couple.
As for nights of free accommodation, food and lifts, don’t be surprised by what people will do to be on TV, add to this, Canadians are just damn right decent people, I think it’s possible.

If it's 36 hours later and you arrive at 11am you leave at 11pm. Unfortunate but them's the rules.

Perfectly fare. In TAR they have 12 hours.
I don't normally watch stuff like this but I saw episode 1 and was intrigued. I am amazed that anybody took the competitive element even vaguely seriously
but what kept me watching was the evolving relationships , especially in the father/daughter teams. Canada looked lovely too .
The logistics of filming were also interesting -I assume each team was assigned a camera team with transport of their own and quick access to accommodation . At least one member of the film team also shares the transport too it appears.

I think you're right, one camera crew per team with their own transport. I think it was their Transit crew bus that became an emergency refuge for Monique and Ladi when the park had an evacuation following a bear spotting.
Usually one in the car with them if they get a lift but from what I could tell they are edited out to be 'invisible'. One particular car ride you could see a blurry mess in the 'empty' back seat that I assumed to be the camera operator.
Edited to add - a good series and any of the 3 remaining teams were worthy winners. I agree on the comments that the checkpoints in this series didn't help the competition, 2 trains per week etc.

It never seemed to be an issue in series one, that may have just been luck and everyone reaching checkpoints at night though (therefore leaving early morning 36hrs later). Tactically there is effectively no reason to arrive at a checkpoint before about 4pm, if you arrive earlier you may as well chill in the town for the day (or work if possible), head there at 5pm and benefit from an extra nights free accommodation AND not lose any time.
