I think you're right, one camera crew per team with their own transport. I think it was their Transit crew bus that became an emergency refuge for Monique and Ladi when the park had an evacuation following a bear spotting.
Yes, that's what I thought at the time.

Just caught up with the last couple of episodes and the reunion (we were on our own, less arduous, trip that also started in Vancouver)

Had to laugh at Kevin and Claudia arriving by taxi to the reunion!

Check out Jet Lag: The Game on YouTube:

The guy behind Wendover Productions and two of his staff/friends have done several races competing against each other. It's just them filming themselves, no camera crews and they use their Wendover logistics knowledge to plan their their moves. Each series has a different objective: Connect4 US States, Tag EUR It, Capture the Flag in Japan etc. They also mix it up with challenges to earn more budget/travel which adds another layer of strategy beyond a simple race.

Route through East Asia from Japan to Indonesia sounds pretty interesting, especially if they get creative with checkpoints

Brilliant show. Hope it retains it’s genuineness. Sure it will - refreshing to see reality TV, as it were, without a load of braindead lip filler/Turkish teeth morons. Viva RATW!

Just wanted to say thank you for the recommendation. I lost a couple of hours to this yesterday. The main guy (blondie) can be a bit hard to understand - he is the fastest talker I have ever heard! - but it's very watchable. The circumnavigation series was great. Race around the world vs Taskmaster.

The route will certainly be interesting, if there is no air travel; anyone care to speculate, what it might be?

Looking forward to this as I enjoy Race Around The World but the Canada one was rather tedious with everyone virtually doing the same route with limited variation in the transport. Saying that, the scenery was stunning. I did enjoy the Celebrity one as well.

Canada one wasn't the best, but I guess they had to get a show post Covid etc.

Really enjoy this show, I'd love to try something similar myself and this series is going to be really interesting as I love Asia, been to Japan and off to Indonesia later this year so it bookends things nicely.

Loved the first series of this, but gave up with the second one where they went to Canada. The route wasn’t good and didn’t have the complexities that the contestants in the first series had. Hoping this one is better!

IIRC the first series was London to Singapore, the second series was South America and the third series was Canada. The first was, IMHO, easily the best.

There was also a 4th series with Celebrities (including racing driver - Billy monger) which started in Marrakesh, Morocco and ended in Tromso, Norway.

Billy's sister came out looking like the sort of person you'd want leading your team. He was stoic, but she was very chilled.

Always been that way, it’s part of the joy of the programme otherwise it’s 60 minutes of people sitting on buses and trains.

Interesting bunch so far but the mother and daughter look destined to run out of money before leaving Japan hehe
