Oh dear

Several endings have been filmed land most of the movie. Like 70% has been reshot after bad test screenings.

This is the latest. Those of you who like rose. Wait till you hear what she does at the last battle.

I could stand 40 seconds of the first video before I could take no more of his voice.

What is the executive summary?

I seriously hope this crashes and burns and Disney are forced to either have a massive re-think or they don't make another Star Wars film.

Strange how they seem to have got Mandolorian right but the main movies so wrong.

I think some of it was just bad timing tbh, the films were being made right in the middle of the #metoo backlash and the new massive PC movement that seems to have overtaken Hollywood in it's wake. Delivering a right on message has overtaken good story telling. Hopefully it's a phase that will pass but in the meantime, it's pretty much ruined this franchise.

RLM think it might be a choose your own adventure

You fill in a questionnaire on what movie you would like to see and that will be the version you see. biggrin

I loved Force Awakens and Last Jedi but I feel strangely muted about this and I'm not sure why. I've booked for midnight as always at a cinema that is usually rammed for midnight screenings, but it's barely a third full at the moment. Obviously it'll make a ton of money, but the buzz just doesn't feel like it's there.

I would never expected this to be the case, but whichever the next MCU film happens to be next is now significantly more interesting to me than what's happening in Star Wars land.

I've gone at midnight the last few times. Not bothering this year although I'll probably go over the Christmas period and take the boy.

I started to watch those videos bu7t they had so many caveats and spolier warnings I never got to any actual content. As I have such low expectations I may actually enjoy it.

Maybe that is all Disney are expecting. "it wasn't as bad as I expected"

It's all very ood, Mandalorian is pretty good, they've done a great job of Galaxies Edge in Disneyland, Rogue One was great and Solo was pretty entertaining and TFA was a good start. TLJ has just fked everyone.

Sounds like a good idea to me!
Luke wakes up and the last two films were a space milk inspired nightmare!

I rather like Vic von Doomcock's voice biggrin

edit to add, I watch and enjoy (mostly0 the creative content of; Doomcock/Overlord, worldclassbullstters, mr h, midnight's edge, clownfish and their takes. I think quite a few are part of that phandom menace thing.
I also enjoy the more centrally based less critical nerdy takes of emergency awesome and den of nerds. Even den of nerds is wondering at stuff though. He's the sort of channel that RLM rip the piss out of with their pastiche, but he has passion and does entertaining enough vids.
I don't think Kath Kennedy has had much input to the mandolarian?

Yeah yeah Grandad! Go back to your Benny Hills and backward thinking. I don't see anything negative about the changes in recognising what the "pc movement" is trying to accomplish.

Good story-telling for any Star Wars film has always been absent - they've always been dumb! They're just a special-effects space adventure with a few laughs amid the usual Good vs Evil yarn. I've enjoyed every single one of them because I understand that. They are simple, easy escapist viewing and absolutely do not warrant the scrutiny that goes on by the merchandise-toy clutching fanboys.

The Galaxies Edge in WDW in Florida is considered a flop by many, they judge it on attendance and wait times for the rides. As an example, over two years since Pandora opened in Animal Kingdom, the wait time for the main attraction there is still regularly 3 hours. However, by lunchtime apparently the wait time for the Millennium Falcon ride at Galaxies Edge is regularly less than an hour. This is not successful in the eyes of those that plan and design these attractions.

Halb, try "Geeks and Gamers" as well, they're doing quite well and do some pretty good analysis IMO.

YOu always come in here and attempt (never successfully) to throw shade on the originals in a way to elevate the current fare. To say something as patently incorrect as the old ones were 'absent of good storytelling' is either, not to have any understanding of what story-telling actually is, or to be white-knighting for the new ones in a wilfully illogical and obtuse way. YOu can say how the news ones are great and try and give reasons, sure, but to try and pick apart the old ones with such hilarious inaccuracies kind of shows just how disingenuous and/or clueless you are.

Absence of good story telling wouldn't get recognition from the writers guild of America (68th greatest screenplay of all time), not even getting into the other recognitions from AFI and congress..

The original Star Wars is classic heros journey story telling.
Simple yes, and some of the script is hokey but the actually story telling is very solid.

Don't feed the troll Halb, CB has form for this on pretty much every thread he infests. I find ignoring his outpourings the best tactic tbh.

I'm pretty convinced he's a chatbot dreamt up by some militant leftie group that trawls the internet so it can just regurgitate canned "woke" lines we've become all to familiar with now tbh

Yeah but remember that time they used hyperdrive to blow up a destroyer therefore making all super weapons useless in one quick swoop and auto forgot to invent autopilot or teach droids to fly?

Everybody with a faster than light ship can destroy anything now.

Anyone else seen the two leaked stills tonight? Wont post them for obvious, major spoiler reasons but they are rather interesting.

Just a question.
Did they only change it for the last one or was it lightspeed earlier. As "traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops"

I'm not sure why everyone's frothing at the mouth about spoiling of major plot points when it's been made very clear by the latest trailer (and the stage appearance earlier in the year).
