The Excalibur thing just looked like a cheesy wedding car to me. Would've loved afew of those remote controlled tanks though haha

It was awful, interesting to see Sarah is still in the show.

Why wouldn’t she be - it was filmed before she left!

Really enjoyed the show yet again and still keeping it's down to earth charm that makes it so relatable to the classic car enthusiasts.

I just hope they manage to keep it this way and not ruin the format by dumbing it down like so many others seem to do.

Quite an esoteric bunch of vehicles, none of which I'd want on my driveway....well maybe a Herald but not that particular one....but just goes to show there's a buyer out there for pretty much everything

I thought the “Bentley” was an absolute abortion. The wings showed it was a bitza. If only some work had gone into making them flowing rather than angular it could’ve passed as vintage.
Looking forward to the Brooklands series as I’m a trainee volunteer there.

I'm with you there, as you say the wings / mudguards were terrible. I suspect that had come up, which is why they had the interview with the new owner saying how much he didn't care that it was not original, he could never have afforded a proper one and most people looking at it won't notice. He's probably right, of course. I guess they can easily be replaced when or if time or money allows.

The wheels looked way too small for a start. The rest looked like it had been built at Leepu's. I can imagine with a bit of work it could be turned round though.

Motorcycle wings would’ve looked better

It reminded me of (meaning I initially thought it was) a Panther Kallista, but clearly an (American) size bigger!

I think Liberace had one with candelabras on the front wings too
Edit: maybe not. Different car laugh

[quote] interesting to see Sarah is still in the show.......

I think I would have walked from the job having to wade through those boxes of tat which filled the showroom every day.
OK, some stuff was interesting but still surprised that Derek said that most sells.

Another great show but the sidecars did nothing for me.

I assume from the weather and lack of masks etc. this is film from auctions in late 2019 / early 2020 (particularly the online auction). I don't think Sarah 'left' until late 2020 (October?).

I'm not sure how many auctions they film (MumblesBoy?) but you certainly see cars from several shows across a series, often in different locations around the site which indicates it might only be one or two auctions per series.

No, and the Beemer had been hacked about so it would need some extensive surgery if you were ever to want to remove the sidecar.

Caught some the previous episodes last night. From the TV program its seems the auctions are very small with only limited buyers. Do they have a large online customer base to sell the cars and memorabilia?

Pre Covid the auctions were far busier than they look on TV, plus online/telephone and absentee bids help.

Small ? They've had to move locations because so many people want to attend the sales.

Correct. I’ve frequently been to both auction venues (the village hall and Mathewson’s main garage), and if you don’t get in either early you simply won’t get in. I’ve seen quite a few punters phoning bids in from outside the building such is the volume of attendees.
