Not really my point, which was if RO was appreciated by George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne then it comes as no surprise that John Lennon also have liked his work. Anyway we digress...
No doubt about it his voice was certainly up with the best.I read it as Lennon liked the Wilburys because of RO vocals.

...Looking forward to the Brooklands series as I’m a trainee volunteer there.
Didn't catch what that was about. Anyone know? RichB said:
hanks, will look forward to that.
I started a specific link on ithttps://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
I started as a trainee volunteer there last January. Obviously it was curtailed but hope to restart when it opens again.
Well done to Mumbles Boy and others on the team; I have watched most episodes and look forward to the new series rolling out.
I guess any petrol head will harbour fond memories of something they had in their early days.
Like many of a 'certain age' my first motor was a Mini - actually a 1960 mini van which was old when I got it (for less than £50) in 1973, but still
got me round Europe in 1974. I did fit a more modern motor, 1965, out of an MOT failed MG 1100, flip front and BMC Blackcherry paint.
Minilites and Sprite bucket seats - what a player!!
Price for an old minivan now is staggering!! so I will have to stay with my M6.

I am lucky enogh to live fairly close to Matthewsons and the run with my mates involves a ride/drive over the North York moors , always great to have a browse in Matthewsons and a wander around the village and get something to eat , really missing the visits during covid, although in the years I have been going I feel the prices have spiked up , maybe because of the popularity of the programme or is it just the natural progression of classic prices?

I often think that if you actually lived in that village, you'd probably curse Mathewsons.cleveland29 said:

I know the area fairly well even though I’m from the South. My father used to live in High Dalby house which is not far away in the Dalby Forrest. It’s now a very up market B&B. Doofus said:

Went to our local tip in Derbyshire this afternoon and there was Derek just outside the entrance loading up some cars.
Had a mint looking Mk2 XR2 on the top with a two door Sierra Cosworth underneath and a pickup on the trailer.
Didn't see any cameras so don't think will be on the TV at any point !
