A sort of up market Caterham idea with no roof (ever IIRC), a bit Lotus Elise , came out at the same time.
received rapturous applause from the motoring Press but never caught on in the UK. Were they all yellow and grey?
No, some of them were blue

Clio Williams engine (that also went into the first Megane). You could get the in blue and I think red and they had a wind deflector or a full windscreen but never a roof.

Cool thing in it’s day but not practical and probably would have fared far better if it came out after the much loved Clio 172 etc.
I’ve seen a yellow one with a hardtop. Could be aftermarket I suppose.

There wasn't even an official soft top let alone a hard top, so it had to be aftermarket. Bet that wasn't cheap.

I've owned both a Lotus Elan SE Turbo and a TVR Chimaera in the past, and both had aftermarket hardtops on the drawing board at the time of my ownership of the cars, and the projected prices were eye-watering. Thousands of pounds.

Looks legless to me. silly

Either that or a woeful Toulouse Lautrec impression.

A mate of mine has just gone to register for the Historics auction at Ascot next weekend and who checked him. Sarah from B&C. He said she was an absolute laugh and charming.
Doubtless poached from Matthewsons for her extensive love for and knowledge of automobilia.

She said earlier in the thread that she had left for reasons she did not want to discuss. So who knows? Poached, left, moved on. I guess we will never know.

Maybe she got sick of people not knowing how to spell it despite being glued to every episode.

Historics automobilia bloke was getting on a bit ,maybe he retired and Sarah was a good fit for the post .

I bought 2 lots a couple of years ago at Brooklands .

Historics don't have automobilia at every auction either and no buckets of chain or rams heads ....LOL.

My dad passed this morning and i will watch the show tonight with a stiff drink in hand.

I am in bits but he is at peace now i suppose.

Of all the cars he had he would always bang on about his anglia . I suppose it was special as he courted my mum in that car and they travelled all over in it.
So bangers and cash will be my tonic tonight.
I’ve just properly caught up with my Dad today for the first time in a few days.

One thing that came up was this show and in particular the Police car which is one than he actually drove during his time in Durham constabulary.

It caused something in me to recall your post here. All my favourite Dad memories are somehow car related and that never dies out. I hope your own good memories can outweigh the loss you must feel.

I’m at a loss to understand why a company that’s obviously doing ok feels the need to use “volunteers” to help prep the cars and assist at the sale. Unless they get use of a tasty car.
If people work, they should be paid.
