Interesting to see a daf, use to have one as a company car, Mine was the estate version, the engine was from a BMW 900cc motorbike , with it being air-cooled the heater worked by blowing air in ducting around the exhaust.
The throttle was connected to a noise generator that was only loosely connected to the speed the car went, but I did manage to get my first speeding ticket in it and had a few interesting times overtaking cars like a marcos 3000, nothing to do with the car more to do with being young and not stopping for things like roundabouts, conserving what little energy it had, fun times and that's why most old cars on the show are popular , memories....
Just for clarity DAF never used BMW engines, the flat twin was a DAF design & later engines were Renault. I recorded it and fast forwarded through the 924 part. I've never been into them.
I liked the DAF. I think they're quite cool. I've seen one before so I knew what it was.
I loved the green 2000E, what a great colour! I think most of them seem to be in brown or gold, so that was something different from the usual.
I also liked the cars in the background at Pickering that they're not focussing on, I spotted a mK1 Focus RS and A series 1 Escort RS Turbo as well as many others I'd quite like to own.

You should subscribe to their YouTube channel. They upload videos for a lot of the cars going for auction so you get to see lots of cars not seen on TV.I liked the DAF. I think they're quite cool. I've seen one before so I knew what it was.

Some people like the Pinto engine, some don't. Some people think that they are noisy, others don't. Some people think they are difficult to work on, others don't. I dread to try to add up how many millions of Ford (and other makes) cars were fitted with a Pinto engine so they cannot be that bad.
There's no denying they were noisy! They had terrible camshaft issues. From memory it was that little oil feed pipe that used to block up. You'd see them for sale behind the counter of most motor factors along with Mini engine steady bushes! BananaFama said:

Filmed by Mr potato head though.Cheers I do watch some of their videos. After their ones WB & Sons came up on recommendation, so I watched some of theirs. They do the same as Matthewson's but on a small scale, great videos though and they are a lot longer.

Haven't seen a DAF in years, I'm old enough to remember when they first appeared in this country as the DAD Daffodil! That one looked a bit untidy around the edges tough. And the seller?
I think it was the voiceover that said once Volvo bought DAF, they stopped making cars and concentrated on trucks, but I'm pretty sure the 66 was badged as a Volvo for a while.ETA:

I would say you're correct, I recall Volvo buying them, and maybe building Volvo in the DAF factory..
I seem to recall something similar. This guy's vids are always good fun and also informative. He mentions DAF and its purchase by Volvo
