I loved the green 2000E, what a great colour! I think most of them seem to be in brown or gold, so that was something different from the usual.
Yep, terrific colour, I think it was called Green Jade Metallic.R reg as well, so one of the very last ones.
Back in 1982, my P reg 2.0GT was only 7 years old, and the front wings were riddled with tin worm, and it was spreading to other parts as well under the quick blow over respray it had been given.

The Maestro van clip was done in my yard/workshops
You see me walking across the yard lol

Rewatching it I clocked someone twice, once coming from the left behind the unit, then again coming from the right across the yard. You see me walking across the yard lol

Does this chap come to your garage with his cars then?
When was it filmed, I’m guessing 2021?
I confess to being rather disappointed with this thread. All these mentions of a 2000E which I assumed referred to a Corsair like my dad's, which I had to borrow for an extended period as it was an auto and my left leg was out of action. And then when I watch the episode, it's merely a 'tina.

The difference being that the Corsair had the awful V4 engine, which is even worse than the Pinto Escort3500 said:
Yes, that Alvis was lovely. The seller was obnoxious; I wonder if Derek would have been so polite if the cameras hadn’t been there
Just seen this episode now. It's funny how different people see things in different ways, as I didn't think he was the least bit obnoxious;. Just seemed like good-natured banter to me.
Derek gives far worse.

He was just a bloke trying doing whatever 'bants' were called in the 1960s.

Funny you should bring this up, I saw another 2000E last week, a Sapphire Sierra, I’d forgotten about them.I didn’t like the colour of the Mk3 2000E they sold.

There's another 1.4S Fiesta coming up in the next Anglia Car Auctions classic at Kings Lynn.

It's the same one, E221 LAY. Untaxed since 1993 (admittedly before SORN existed) and no online MoT record at all. An attempted flip, it's had a restoration, but no MoT? https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic-auctions/2...

We look after a lot of the sales cars pre & post sale.
Was filmed late summer last year iirc

I thought the 924 seemed good value and will only go one way. I’d be interested to see the insurance quote for it. Somehow I think its age could work out in keeping it lower than say a newer performance car.
I'm not so sure. I'm in the camp that thinks the 924 will always be in the shade of the 924S, or more so the 944.Penny Whistle said:

For sure. But as the values of those go up, they will drag the value of the 924 up with them. There will always be people who can't afford the most desirable model of whatever it is, and settle for the lesser model. I'd really like an old 924...in gold or bronze with that brown dogtooth interior. Or a 924s. I think they are lovely cars and should be painless to own. Like the 944 and 928 as well.
Although this mish mash actually looks like it would be a hoot...

I think you're right - it does look a hoot. Weird ad though - why not call it a 924S Carrera, why refer to it as 2.0L which it never was and why no photos of the engine bay ? "Work in progress" sounds a bit lame.I just found my dream car... Search for yours https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202303215...
Drifting a bit away from B&C, though.
Another entertaining episode, loved the Morgan, I've always had a fascination for three wheelers but never driven one....
Would have liked to have seen more of the Humber, the E Type was a V12 and I'd disagree with Dave, it's not really the one to have, the earlier ones were prettier.

Wasn’t his point though that it was an ideal entry-level/‘cheap’ E-Type rather than the nicer (ie more expensive) models? Agree that the earlier ones were far nicer looking (especially in convertible form IMO). I liked the Focus RS, and the Morgan looked very nice, if terrifying
The Morgan was pretty but I wouldn't want one...I saw the video for the Escort when it was up for auction and thought that would just be silly money- how do you own/drive a car like that? You'd be frightened of the slightest bit of wet/mud/dust/leaving it anywhere, etc.
The Focus was nice- great seeing the generational shift happening now in what is considered a 'classic'- but from the whole episode, I would choose the E Type.

I agree with the general thinking that the earlier E-Types were the best looking, faired in headlamps, triple wipers but for me the coupe is far nicer than the convertible. The modern Fords just pass me by. It's obviously an age thing but I was never into 'Fast Fords' in period, they just seemed a bit cheap with their plastic interiors and they still seem that way to me now. Sorry to offend you youngsters
