Why would you take that signal message related to Titanic to Mathewsons?
Yes, that would have easily fetched considerably more in a proper nautical sale at a larger auction house. Someone got a bargain there. Not much else on there this week that floated my boat (boom, boom!).

Those Bedford Beagles are pants.
I guess they bring back memories for some.
A lot of cars from this era are pants. It’s all about nostalgia, as almost everyone that appears on the programme says ‘it was my first car’, ‘my dad had one’, ‘I learned to drive in one’ etc I guess they bring back memories for some.

Judging by the number of project cars on the land, I’m not convinced the serial collector of Eastern bloc motors will do a full resto on the 603
I’ve just watched this segment & the filming is of Sudbury in Suffolk which is about 4 miles from my home. I have never seen any of that fantastic collection of eastern bloc motors on the road or anywhere else, I wonder where exactly his boneyard is situatedPinkTornado said:

Something about the Bedford HA respray didn't seem right to me. Maybe it had been a darker colour and needed another coat of white. I can endorse Derek's opinion of the engine - I had a Viva HA and the pistons and rings went at about 50k.
1970/71 we got a hired HA van where i worked to replace the hired Transit that I'd rolled the previous day. It lasted a week before the head gasket went.aeropilot said:

I think the MG was one of two unrestored ones that featured in B&C last year after the owner had passed away and his widow sold them to the chap in tonight’s programme
Same, guy, but not the same car. Those were pre-war SA or VA saloons.PinkTornado said:

Chap with every colour scheme RD250 (it seemed!) and American cars has issues methinks, and a lot of money! The RD350 was the one to have, very quick but that makes the 250 a bit cheaper I suppose.
I've always quite admired big muscle cars from the USA but LHD in the UK would drive me nuts.
The stuff about pulling that Quattro out with loads of crap in the way did seem a bit 'for the TV.' No way would they send a recovery truck to hep shift a load of stuff and come back empty! I expect the production team said leave all the clutter, and they came to an arrangement. Auction houses charge enough to turn up and just drive one straight on as it is! I agree it was ridiculous bidding on the Quattro, almost £20k with the fees and it's a wreck. Was it low miles?

Given how much higher this one went compared to the one that sold a few years back, that they dragged out of that ladies garage, and that one was pristine compared to this 'field car'.......!Have UR Quattro prices jumped up that much in the space of a few years that people are paying silly money for any old st.....?
Or did the B&C team overpay for it for their next 100k restoration project
