I looked on their website for the Punto, bing a base model 3 door, my initial estimation was £5k ish. It was sold WITH a clean MoT that they didn't show being mentioned which I would have said made it easily worth £6k. smile

For some reason, it' showing as sold for £6700 which isn't correct. On almost all items they sell, Mathewsons, and all auction houses, have to add on the buyers fees (for this car it would have been 7.5%) so it was well over £7k in the end. Unless it was sold fee-free for some reason?

The Citroen expert was...interesting. Where do they find these people?!

Loved the mint Punto- like Paul said, most of them are worth about a quid these days. I ran one years ago- a nice driving car, albeit just a little bit underpowered in the standard form. Happy days.

He reminded me of the adenoidal caricature of an anal car enthusiast that Clarkson was oft to do.

We said he looked like the sort of person who’d be an expert in something obscure

Was it just me who thought that Derek was very rude to the bloke with the Citroen?

That SM looked a right shed....surprised it sold for what it did.

Same with the E9 CSi.....which did turn out to be a shed laugh

Petty sure the CS buyer has been on B&C before, when he bought a shed of a Jag XJS and was going to buy a welder and do it up himself, and then later admitted he was in way over his head.....
I don't think the CSI buyer has been on there before.

What was strange though, he'd always wanted one and in that colour, but I'll sell it. WTF??

Lol! I know what you mean! I think if he'd have not had the long hair and just had it at a normal length, his whole appearance would have been different.

I don't know why it annoys me so much when people pronounce it Mazzer-Ratty, with a strong emphasis on the 'ratty'.

I agree Delboy was very dismissive to his face & then back at Pickering too, but ultimately not wrong really.

CSI buyer was like me, as soon as I've bought a car I'm thinking about what car I want to try next. So many cars & so little time, especially as you get older!!!

Agreed that even by Derek’s standards he was very grumpy/rude! I wonder if something had happened or perhaps he was just grumpy after being stuck in traffic which he mentioned earlier.

If the person who was going to auction my car turned up and was as dismissive and rude as Derek was I would have told him he had wasted his time coming.

I'm guessing we don't know the whole story, it was very out of character perhaps something happened off camera.

The chap selling the SM was a dealer, so Derek was talking "trader to trader".

Bubbles was one of the ‘volunteers’ who washed and polished the cars. Haven’t seen him this series, any know why?

Ah, yes, I know of Bubbles. I was confused because you said you'd seen him. Anyway, perhaps he's finally retired from his voluntary job? hehe

I thought he sounded and looked extra pissed off.

It wasn't his usual tone, which is usually more piss-taking than pissed-off. It could be that it was filmed last year around the time there were some tabloid stories about his private life, which would understandably affect his demeanour.
