Enjoyed it. The aerial shots were fantastic. Hard to tell which (if any) planes were real and which were CGI.
The formation flying seemed a bit close together, but otherwise I agree. I thought they made a good effort at recreating the Italian landscape beneath the planes, presumably California with enhancements (unlike many WW2 films which made no attempt to hide the fact, that's YOU Battle of the Bulge!)nicanary said:

I think most of it was filmed on location in italy and Sardinia, a couple of B-25 aircraft stopped at Duxford last year on their way back to the states after they had finished filming.lufbramatt said:

Enjoyed it, hard to dramatise a work that is both Sisyphean and Kafkaesque in its absurdity yet is so grounded in reality. I thought it was a good stab, but to enjoy it in full technicolor 3d magnificence...read the book and let your mind do the work....look forward to next episodes

Thought it was reasonable. Not as good as the book but good fun.
Also, for fans of the book - read "the 100 year old man who climbed out of the window and dissappeared". Same style of irrelevant humour.
Forgot I had read that until you mentioned it, I'll have to read it again, I do remember laughing lots though and that it was quite bizarre. Also, for fans of the book - read "the 100 year old man who climbed out of the window and dissappeared". Same style of irrelevant humour.
