Applications are being taken for 2020. This is the Reddit where a few of the builders post stuff https://www.reddit.com/r/battlebots

2020 rules

Robot design: https://battlebots.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/...

Tournament rules: https://battlebots.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/...

Judges' guide: https://battlebots.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/...

Walker bots are allowed with a 500lb weight limit (wheel robots are a 250lb limit)

Lifters must be able to lift another 250lb robot into the air

Robots must have an active weapon (Duck redesign?)

Foam isn't allowed (Ribbot's foam body wouldn't get in)

Judges' points are now 5 for damage, 3 for aggression, 3 for control.

Can't wait to see if anyone designs a walker bot. There's potential for a massive weapon with a 500lb weight limit, 250lb spinner anyone?
There was only ever one good walkerbot on Robot Wars that could actually fight Anarchy - https://robotwars.fandom.com/wiki/Anarchy

I think that was the best design solution and something on Battlebots like that could work well too.
Coolest design, even if it didn't do that much, would be Mechadon from original Battlebots. A 6 legged walker that could self right by rolling itself over. More of a tech demo than an aggressive fighter. Might work these days with a weapon on it like Huge though. https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/Mechadon

Low profile legs, spinner on top.
Or Mechadon, with a spinner between its legs like Huge smile
