What’s the big deal about James Cracknell? Seems like quite a few on here are getting excited about him (or is just the same person posting numerous times), just wondered why?

Personally I’m looking forward to seeing Alex Scott, she’s very good as a pundit and ludicrously attractive too.

That's me being a Cracknell Fanboy. Just really like the guy.

Not sure how he will do. The athletes often do quite well because they have the fitness and are used to being told what to do by coaches. Plus hes so focussed he'll put everything into it.

The muscle boys don't tend to do well as they are generally very inflexible & the musculature gets in the way of the movement. At least I've heard of him though which is more than can be said for the rest.

Yeah good point. Indeed he is the only one I know. Works in his favour as the others are seriously z list.

It’s that time again...I still think the BBC are missing a trick by not doing a celebrity version...

its a common theme - many hardly knew any of the celeb partners last year yet it was a really good series last time.

if you don;t watch soaps, listen to "popular" radio or spend half your life on social media then its unlikely you will know everyone.

Alex Scott for the win for me

I recognise five names and don't know who the others are.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though, since i don't have any preconceived judgement on them if i like them or not.

Rowers have to be pretty flexible.

Someone today mentioned re same sex couples, and how, if it happened it'd ruin the show.

My mind started wandering to say Katya and Janette, doing the argentine tango. Seemed okay to me.

Won’t be too long before a guest on The One Show or similar says that this years line up is the best one ever!

I don't recognise any of them at all. Not real hotties either. I can't stand the guy who is teaming up with Zoe on ITT. So yet to be convinced about this year!

Agreed, we always watch It takes two because it's fun and also Zoe I'd likeable and genuine. Rylan is horrible, fake in every way, insincere and basically unwatchable for me so I'll just watch the two days he's not on it.

Tis a disappointing hottie count too, gone are the days of Rachel Riley, Abbie Clancy, Rachel Stevens, Kelly Brook etc.

To be fair most of my favourite famous ladies have done it already and I don't see them getting Margot Robbie or Jennifer Lopez any time soon.

Jamie Laing confirmed as out of the series due to a foot injury he sustained during filming of the launch show. Evidently specialists had hoped he might have recovered but have now confirmed this won't happen.

BBC still haven't confirmed whether to source a last minute replacement or go ahead with the series with the remaining contestants, although they've said Jamie will most likely take part next year now instead.

Don't they normally have a reserve for instances such as this?

I literally don't know who any of this year's Strictly contestants are, other than Anneka Rice.

Won't stop me watching though.

Keeeeeeeeeep dancing!
