And Karim & Amy and Emma & Anton gracious in defeat too - they looked genuinely happy for Kelvin and Oti.

This is what I love about Strictly - it's an oasis of feel-good decency with glitter, in a grim world of general awfulness. cloud9

Completely agree Clockwork; and would add that the whole package - music, costumes, the professional dancers, everything really - is extremely well produced, very slick and lights up those dark nights during the back end of the year.

I even like the judges, and I have no criticism of Tess or Claudia; it's just perfect feel-good telly.
I was with you100% until you got to the judges smile (I find Shirley and Motsi extremely annoying).

I've been critical of the judges in this thread for this year, most annoying bar Craig.
And the lovey dovey last dance together commentary and pieces to camera last night were quite nauseating.

BUT.......I do broadly agree Clockwork - it's a good feel good show, family entertainment and leaves a nice glowing feeling in a world that's often not so pleasant. I also love Oti, but that's less relevant to either of our posts biggrin

Did Oti very nearly fall out of her top at the end of her show dance last night wobble

No strictly curse this year...........................that we know of yet i guess. ;-)
Coincidentally Karim has split from his girlfriend smile
Up until last night I thought Kelvin was being extremely cautious with his physical contact with Oti, sometimes looking really awkward and embarrassed to be touching her. Last night he was much more touchy feely.
Just sayin

Jesus H Christ. Kelvin is a great dancer and I wish I could dance and turn women’s heads like he can, but Shirley is a total cringe factory. He even looks a bit awkward when she’s gushing over him. If the genders were reversed it would not be tolerated.

Even so, a deserving winner - their show dance was great.

I wonder if some of the extended filler, chats etc was to help manage the timing due to the missing couple. More time for costume changes etc

A through cull of judges and presenters is required , just leave Craig. If as has been mooted , Anton is stepping down , who better to fill one of the places .He is more than qualified to judge or even present ,given his years of experience .It would thoroughly despicable for him to do another year , and stick him with a no hoper
And why was Shirley wearing a lump of AstroTurf stuffed down the front of her dress Saturday .And Motsi , words fail me , Dress sense is totally lacking from all the front line females on the program

It’s funny how the most popular show on tv is lumbered with the worst two presenters by a mile, it would save the beeb a stload of money just to wheel out a cardboard cut out of Daley being utterly dead behind the eyes, and Winkleman somehow has cultivated this image that she’s zany/quick witted when she’s neither.

Thing is she is very quick-witted but the BBC have put her in a strait jacket. When she first started presenting with Tess she had her knuckles rapped a few times and is now toeing the party line, more's the pity. frown

Agree. She is sharp and very funny IF she’s allowed to be herself, but that doesn’t fit the corporate Beeb profile frown

Well, I've never seen it, but happy to accept she's just stifled by being the highest paid woman on the BBC for delivering jokes more cringingly than poor old Brucey ever managed...

...and as for some of the outfits she wears... Someone needs to tell her she looks like a dog's dinner...

Insanity.

Not sure she's being stifled and even if you are you can still be funny, even her efforts at basic humour are cringeworthy

Oh come on, I like Claudia but can still see why she might get some flack but theres no possible way anyone could deliver jokes more poorly and cringeworthily than Bruce.

He was absolutely unwatchable!

That's because she's been told to stick to the ste someone has typed into the Autocue. She doesn't need it & is lightningly quick witted, but Tess just can't keep up.

Absolutely. yes

She was razor sharp on ITT and then when they promoted her to the main show she made some blistering ad-libs that would have had BBC execs going quite pale. She was obviously read the riot act and told to stick to the script, because over the next few weeks she dialled it back until it was all gone. frown

I like Claudia's role and wouldn't want to see her go. TBH I have no real issues with the judges.
