There's a tendancy for movies/shows that exhibit alot of violence/gore/swearing to trade too much on that and double down on those in following sequels to try and replicate the same shock value, to the detriment to the actual show/film. Kick-Ass 2 and Kingsman 2 come to mind..

I was worried series 3 of the boys would go the same way, especially with them finally doing herogasm.

But Jesus Christ they knocked it out the park with this episode and series so far. Friday can't come quick enough.

It reminds me of in a way when in WW2 USAAF crew were restricted as to what they could paint on the sides of their aircraft in terms of decency but were told to indiscriminately bomb civili populations.
